FP+ Details Are Out!

some thoughts, please.

We have PAPs that have not been activated yet. It appears I can link my tickets to MDE. We will be there in August but staying DVC so not eligible for FP+.

The question is- do I want to? Any advantages or disadvantages to linking?

bumping my own questions. any opinions? :worship:

There is no advantage to linking them at this time. And it unclear if you CAN link a voucher/exchange certificate yet, depending on when it was purchased and what format the ticket ID takes.

Question: Once this system is fully ready to go, what would stop an AP holder from reserving FP's every day of the year on the chance they might be in the park? If they don't go, no water off their back except the FP's could have gone to someone else who would have used them.

What they should do is put restrictions on them if they go over a certain amount of FP+ reserved that they did NOT use. Like say if they did not show up for 5 of their FP+ reservations (did not cancel them) then they are restricted from reserving any more for a period of time or something like that.

Ours can be linked it seems, but your answer confirms my gut. Thanks!

I agree they should do that. But it won't stop a fair number from continuing to book them to keep their options open, but cancelling in time to avoid any penalty if they decide not to use them. Plenty do this with ADRs in spite of the CC hold.

I used UT to purchase tickets; used Travelocity for our resort stay (POP / AKL); as of this evening everything is now linked in MDE. Like many others, I happened to see an option to make FP+ selections and to order customized MagicBands. After separating my daughters (who'd have thought, both wanted pink) I looked at my arrival date (8/17) and selected Soaring, Test Track, and Character Spot for FP+. As some have reported, I then had to choose from among four sets of arrival times. Since we'll be arriving mid-afternoon I opted for evening attraction arrival times.

While there's no way we'll arrive any earlier, I started thinking. What would happen if we did make rope drop? I suppose since I've already made my FP+ selections for that evening, then my family and I would be riding standby on everything that morning (assuming no change in our FP+ plans). No traditional FPs for us, correct?

How were you able to get your UT tickets linked? I have 10 day NE tickets from UT (that have not been used at all yet) and I don't have a 12 digit number on the back of my ticket. I have a 16 digit code but the system won't take it. I got confirmation this morning that my magic bands have shipped (we're AKL late August).

There is a different place on the web site to enter them in. Go to Link Existing...then Ticket or Pass, and select Older Ticket Or Pass (regardless of how recent you got them, if they are the old Tyvek tickets). If you have a 16-digit barcode ID you can read under the barcode, say Yes and enter that. If you don't, or it doesn't work, say No, and select one of the top two choices, whichever most closely resembles the ticket you have, and enter what it asks.

Alternately, I believe you can scan the barcode with the app.

I am not sure if this has been brought up yet but I have 2 tickets that come up when the barcode is scanned. It doesn't show how many days left (but does show what type of ticket it is) and it tells me I must put a name to that ticket and it has to synch. Well I am not sure who used them the last time. There are no names on them.

I am guessing I shouldn't link them and just wait and see? Was hoping this was a new to find out how many days are left on passes.

We linked ours, but I don't know if I should have or not. 4 in our party have active PAPs, but another has a AP voucher. It linked with the ticket confirmation number. If I remember correctly, I had to input it under my name and then move it to another guest. Right now, it appears that they are all linked correctly.

I don't-heck the more that don't show the faster the SB lines, same as now.

Then again-I plan to have what I want at 60 days, if "more" are added (additional) as available-then I hope folks are cancelling if not using.

As long as you are good with standby and don't want to book one of those wasted spots, then I suppose it would work out for you.

We got our Magic Bands today for our AKL trip in 23 days.:cool1:Ordered them yesterday morning and got them today - less than 24 hours since requesting them.:woohoo:

1- I am guessing I shouldn't link them and just wait and see?

2- Was hoping this was a new to find out how many days are left on passes.

1- Sounds right to me.

2- If it is, it will undoubtedly not be there for long.
(That goes against the "illegal resale" safety policies that do not allow easy
guest -and illegal resellers- access to active ticket info.)

Thank you! That worked and I was able to get my tickets linked and FP+s booked.

We have parkhoppers and I wasn't able to split parks as I was hoping. Here's to still getting up early. :wizard:

I spoke to a cm online today and she said most people are waiting til 10-14 days before their arrival date to book fp+. Guys this makes more sense then booking 60 days out.

Ummm......The test participants did not have an option of booking 60 days out.

Most might prefer to book 10-14 days out, but once this rolls out for real, as long as a certain number start at 60, you will likely need to do so if you want certain rides.

And really, booking at 10-14 vs. booking at 60..... what's the difference? It's not like you're likely to get a reliable weather forecast, so it's all just shooting in the dark. It doesn't add a single ounce of spontaneity back into the equation by "only" booking 10-14 days out. It still leaves you open to all sorts of last minute issues.

Alright everyone, I got chosen and I have questions for our trip departing on August 13.

1. Has anyone heard of anyone being able to link a Travel Agent pass? I have a confirmation number, but it won't accept it (it's shorter than a normal Will Call number).

2. I have purchased 10 day PHs for DD and DH and plan on bridging them to APs. I can add their tickets to the MDE account, but I'm worried about bridging them when I get there. Will I have issues or should I just go ahead and link them?

Yes for now. But I'm sure not everyone WANTS to book dining reservations 180 days out either. It's just become out of necessity for many restaurants. Give it a year and people will be booking FP+ 60 days in advance.
