FP+ Details Are Out!

9 to 15 feet will be enought for Disney to know every time you get in a queue, everytime you walk into a shop, and everytime you walk through any area smaller than 30 feet across so you come into range of a scanner on one side or another. What an amazing amout of information for analysis of behavioral patters!! What do people do at this temp, at this hour, when it rains, during EMH, during fireworks, etc., etc., etc., etc....

But it will depend on placement of the sensors, like I mentioned. They can get a lot of data still without having to cover every square inch.

I'm sure you are right about not cutting the band. Although it won't be long until somebody figures out exactly where the antenna goes and posts the information. Wait, now that I think about it, I read that you will be able to trim away the excess band if you desire, so we will be told where it can be cut. If it is designed for the smallest visitor, you should be able to make it very small anyway.

Which is what I just said you could do... :) There is an outer "peel-away" section, which obviously does not contain any important components :) It's a one-way thing though.

Interesting, I did not see that in the articles, or not that I remember. I'll have to look for pictures. Thanks.

3 a day. You can pick any ride once. You can later change them to include duplicate rides. No tiers.

So did I fall asleep at the wheel? I knew you could go back in and adjust times, but you can duplicate rides? So you'd have to choose just one TSMM but could then go back in to change it to include 2 (dare I suggest 3????) rides on TSMM?

How great would that be? Except I can't see it happening. Surely Disney will block multiple selections on headliners or due to timings it will not be possible. I.e. you book 3 Fp choices 60 days out but cannot adjust them till nearer the time when TSMM will already be fully allocated.

Agreed. Just because it can be done now during the testing means very little. Any loophole like that would be quickly closed.

I think so too. I'm thinking the PP was just confused by the report of being able to adjust times after making your initial selections. That really would be a headline announcement at this point if you could duplicate rides.

Can you imagine if AP holders could go in and book 3 TSMM slots every day of a given month? :lmao:

That would be interesting indeed.

whatsarahsaid was able to change an existing FP+ reservation to an attraction for which she had already used a FP+ earlier that day. So at least during that day, you can get another FP+ for an attraction you've already used one on.

I'm not sure we have more data to know whether the same day you can change one to be the same as one you still have outstanding.

I'm still certain that you can't select the same attraction more than once before that day.

Thanks for filling in the blank. Yeah, I bet you can only hold one for a ride at a given time. Of course during the test there would be a lot more availability for headliners, so not sure how that will play out in fact once this goes live for the masses.

Especially if you strap it to a squirrel or stray cat on your way out of the park...

Chekov: Keptin, I think we should call security out to New Fantasyland...it appears the guests are climbing the trees...

I've only heard about it being tested at BoG, where basically you checked in at an exclusive location, sat down, and the food was delivered to you.

I believe the early concept in general was that you'd be able to pre-order your lunch online, arrive at your selected time, scan and pay. The food would be ready or available shortly. You save time in a shorter line and don't have to make decisions while standing there. Whether this rolls out at all is still in question.
As long as it doesn't include tables...

I like the touch screen kiosks that are already in place. I'd rather deal with a human but these work nicely if the lines get backed up. People don't seem to like them and if that trend continues, I see no need to pick my food months in advance.

"FastPass+ service will let you be free to enjoy the moment with others, knowing many of your must-do activities are secured in advance."

How the .... um .. .heck ? Are you "free to enjoy the MOMENT" ... if you are planning SIXTY DAYS in advance. That doesn't sound like enjoying the moment at all .... that sounds like you are following the schedule, showing up to your appointments, etc....

ugh ...

Yup...I can confirm that! :thumbsup2

So, whatsarahsaid, during your test use of the system, did they assign all the times for your FP+s once you put in the morning, afternoon, evening, all day selection? And then you had to go back in and rearrange them?
PS: Thanks for all the info on your testing experience!

yea, I haven't seen anything to suggest you will be able to duplicate rides, although I have seen speculation that you will only be able to FP each ride once per day ...

Other than whatsarahsaid was able to do as part of the test...
