FP+ Details Are Out!

So I logged into MDE this morning and instead of the popup telling me to link my reservations to prepare for FP+, I was prompted to customize my Magic Bands and make FastPass+ selections. Am I part of a test group, or is this the rollout? Just wondering if I'll still be able to use the old FastPass kiosks too.

August 20th (35 days to go!). I got our Mickey Mail yesterday and figured we were all good, but now it looks like we'll be sent Magic Bands some time after July 20th. We'll be staying at Pop, if that matters.

I'm kind of excited to play with the new technology, but it would be nice if we still have the choice to use the old system too.

I was checking a reservation this morning and I was prompted to choose fast pass+ beginning Aug. 18 which is my arrival date. There were 6 steps in the process.....choosing dates, linking family, choosing park, choosing 3 attractions.

I picked Epcot on Aug. 19. I had a list of many Epcot attractions including Captain EO, Soarin, Figment, Maelstrom....I'm not sure if I saw MS or TT. Anyways, I got to step 4 and chickened out so I cancelled what I was doing. I believe the next step would have been choosing times.

I kept thinking if I completed the process, these lights would go off and an evil voice would say, "BWAH HA HA.....now there is no turning back! You can never do regular fast pass again!!!"

I know what you're thinking.....paranoid or what???

So I decided to be brave and try again. This time it said error 404 has occurred. And so that was the end of that.

Hi! I'll be honest, I haven't read through all the posts, so I apologize if this question/concern has already been addressed. I'm a little worried about my upcoming trip in November. Being from Canada, I cannot access the MDE on the computer, but I can on my iPhone. Does anyone know if i will be able to make FastPass+ reservations on my phone, if it rolls out by then? Knowing how leisurely my family likes to walk in the park, having these would be lovely.

The site has done weird things before. Chances are you are not actually eligible for MagicBands or Fastpass+ yet, and it's just Yet Another Glitch.
I have two reservations around that same time, and neither are giving me any additional options.

I am at 60 days today (arriving September 14) and I was not offered any fastpass plus options on the MDE website today.

My kids are lobbying for the bands this morning.

I remember reading that during a previous test someone was able to get another FP+ in the park after they used one. Am I remembering that correctly?

The FP+ system is not in operation yet.

And the MDE app doesn't work.

That's my understanding as well (and don't get me started on the horrible MDE app) but there are people here this morning with reservations in August who are saying that they have been offered the ability to choose fast passes. My trip is in September and the MDE website did not change for me.

ETA: I'm guessing those who were able to see the fast pass plus options this morning for trips in August were experiencing yet another glitch in the website. Sort of gives a new meaning to the word magical, doesn't it? Things appear and then disappear... it's magic!

ETA again: Based on RoxyMat's post below, maybe it's not a glitch. Where's the emoticon for banging my head against a brick wall?

But my choices stuck, and I was even able to adjust times after being given sets of times that could have overlapped with my ADRs. My choices are still up on MDE, and I can even access them on the iPhone app.

Numerous people with mid to late August arrivals at various resorts are reporting they are given the options to customize their MagicBands this morning. Earliest arrival I've seen so far is August 17th, which is the same day I'm arriving but I haven't been given the option yet.

Were you able to choose all headliners or were you offered different "tiers" of rides?

I chose all headliners, and I noticed that I was able to rank them in order of importance while choosing. There was a choice to do "quick picks", but I didn't bother with that. After choosing rides, I was given four sets of times for all three rides, with one set being marked as my best option. Then I just adjusted any times that were too close to ADRs.

I noticed that for a couple of rides, some time periods in the middle of the day weren't available at all. Might be that they're holding back FP+ during the busiest times right now on the most popular rides.

Does anyone know if the MDE system know the amount of days left on the tickets?

I was able to link my old non expiring passing, but those only have water park days available. My other non expiring theme park tickets will not link to the system.

So know my linked passes simply says 10 day non expire park passes with water park option.

Now, as others have reported it is showing up on the MDE app. Not sure what to do. Part of me wants to test it out & part of me is afraid I will regret it.

So far I've been able to link our tickets. I have an AP & I ordered 2 tickets from UT for my nieces. I customized a magic band for me. Gonna go customize bands for the girls as soon as I find out what color they want.

I think that if you lock in and customize magic bands, you're stuck being forced to use FP+. Your tickets will be tied to the bands, and that would mean you don't even have a card ticket to use at regular FP machines. So at this point, I'd go ahead an lock in FP+ choices (but don't quote me on that).

I'm so surprised to see someone with dates this early being able to choose MBs! My arrival is 8/4 at ASMu. When I click on Magic Bands it asks me to link my reservation/ticket but when I enter my confirmation number it says that that reservation is already linked. I've been assuming my dates were just too early for another test but now I'm wondering...
