Can anyone explain the process in detail? My date to book are March 14th...what time should I be on the computer? What is the procedure like? Do I choose my preferred times in order of preference and then it randomly gives me a time? Or will it be given based on when I am on the computer, etc.?

On the new Disney FP+ commercial, I saw they give you Option A-C. Is that based on your selections? And then they generate times for you for ALL of those selections? Or can you be specific on a time with each selection?

I'm getting anxious because I do want my FP+ selections for RD...like I normally would get them with FP-. I know most recommend booking FP+ for the evening, but in the evening I just do the shows and do my rides at RD. Any advice on this is appreciated, especially from those who have booked their selections online, etc. I just want no surprises the day of booking.

You will be able to select your FP+ at 60 days out or maybe the day before. I did.

1- Go the your MDE
2- select FP+
3- select day for FP+ hit next
4- select who you are making FPs for, hit next
5- select which park, hit next
6- select your 3 FP+s, hit next, you can then prioritize them
7- you then can choose option A,B or C, next
You then can do the rest of your days.
Once done you can go to MDE MY Reservations and change individual times for your FP+s.

You will prioritize your selections, then it will give you four options to choose from. It doesnt really matter which one you pick, because you can go back and change the time for each attraction individuallly, and so far in my experience I haven't had any trouble picking exactly the time I want. And you don't have to be on your computer exactly at midnight the day your booking window opens or anything like that. I didn't make my reservations until a few days later. And i have gone back several times to tweak them without any trouble. It's kind of a pain only because the site isn't really user friendly and there is a lot of going back and forth, but don't stress about getting the rides and times you want. It will be fine.

Thanks for the detailed process! One more thing...

#4 - can you select two people at once? Or do you have to do one at a time?

Thank you! I usually tour commando style, so the FP+ system is kinda freaking me out. You've eased my anxiety, thank you again! :goodvibes

When it gives you the multiple options it will usually group them by time of day. For example, Option A usually gives morning times, B gives afternoon, and C gives evening. If you want morning times I would suggest choosing B or C and then go back and change the times individually. You don't want to choose option A because it won't let you overlap with the other FP+ times that you have reserved in the morning. I hope that makes sense. You should be able to easily get the times you want and customize your experience without any problems.

Sorry if I'm not following. If Option A usually gives morning times and I want morning times, why wouldn't I choose that? What do you mean it overlaps with other morning times if I haven't chosen my morning times yet? Again, sorry.

Does everyone in your group have to fastpass the same ride or can you do them each individually?

Thanks!

I made my FP+ selections today for our March 23-30 trip. PP's steps were right on. I, too, was going for earliest return times, and in *most* cases managed to choose one of the options and then tweak the times to suit this plan. Only one day (a Saturday) at Epcot was a bit problematic and return times were spread out more than I would have liked, with no earlier options available. I suppose I could keep checking back to see if something opens up ...

One thing that others have mentioned that I did encounter are the "ghost" FP+s that remain on some of the pages even once you have changed a time. In other words, both the old time/attraction and the new one you have customized appear on your itinerary for the day. However, if you specifically go into "My Reservations" and scroll to your FastPass+ selections, you will only see the "real" ones.

Also, if you have dining reservations, a note will be displayed if there is an overlap. However, it didn't prevent me from choosing that FP+ time. I ended up adjusting some ADR times to avoid any conflict.

Overall, the process was relatively straightforward once I got going. Tweaking return times was the most time-consuming aspect because you had to keep going back to the day's itinerary for each ride you were trying to change. All in all I spent about 45 minutes for 7 days' worth of FP+s and adjusting ADRs.

Just to check how/if things were updated on the MDE mobile app, I tried logging in on my iPhone. But I keep getting error messages and/or the app crashes. So I will definitely be printing out a list of all my FP+s to have on hand just in case there is some glitch with them being linked to our MBs.
In any event I am thankful to not have to go to the kiosks each morning. (We are AP holders but because we have a resort stay booked, we were able to link our passes and make advance FP+ selections.)

Hope this is helpful; good luck!

I am worrying about return times being too far apart...and it will be rather annoying to keep checking to see if anything opens up. I preferred the FP- because my FPs were subject to my ability to be at RD, etc. and I was much more in control of the return times that way.

Also worried about the ADRs...I have a few 11:00am lunch reservations so to tell me I can't book a FP+ based on ADRs seems unfair too as an ADR can take an hour but using a FP+ could take 20 minutes.

Good idea to print your FP+ just in case...I hate relying on technology so much! I much prefer to keep my phone away while in WDW.

If you just want morning times and don't care about the ride order, it doesn't matter. But if you want Peter Pan at 10-11 and Pooh from 11-12, and it gives you Pooh at 10-11 and PP from 11-12, you can't then go in and switch PP to 10-11 because you already have something at 10-11, and you can't switch Pooh to 11-12 because you already have something at 11-12. You must switch each individually. So, you have to move them out of your way and then slide them into the open slots where you want them. If you choose the afternoon selection, everything is already out of your way and you can just move each ride where you want it.

My question: Is it easy to select just one person to change one ride, after I've booked everyone with the same FP+?

Does everyone in your group have to fastpass the same ride or can you do them each individually?

Thanks!

From my understanding, everyone has to choose the same FP+? Someone please correct me if I am mistaken?

Ok! Got it! Like a rubik's cube! I guess it doesn't matter what times...though I don't wana be zigzagging back and forth. Rather schedule times so there's a forward motion rather than backtracking. Thanks for clarifying!

Someone else asked something similar...doesn't everyone in the party have to be booked under the same FP+? Hopefully someone can answer this for us.

No, everyone does not have to choose the same thing. You have the opportunity to select the people (linked to your MDE/reservation) for each FP+ selection.
