FP+ and Rider Swap Clarification

Odd, I tried last night and got the message I had to add someone 14 or older before selecting.
I didn't try it past that point, so I suppose it will work itself out and allow it after adding another guest.

I think they modify times or rides individually so the young child has the FP for a ride without an adult.

The goal isn't that the child will ride alone, the child's MagicBand will be swapped and used by an adult who will then ask for a Rider Swap pass. So, essentially, a child's FP becomes an adult FP to utilize Rider Swap.

You could always enter the standby line, getting the rider swap pass. Then have to leave the standby line for a potty break. Do this again and now you have 2 rider swap passes. Then you wouldn't need any fast passes.

I was wrong about the other example being cheating, but this is clearly cheating the system. It does work though, so you have to decide if it's a strategy you'd feel comfortable using.

I thought at one time I had a single reservation for my daughter at A&E before I could land us all on there. Are you able to book a 3 year old for a single FP+? If so wouldn't it be as simple as mom and daughter switching bands before heading to cast member for rider swap?

I was not able to book a FP+ for A&E for a child under 7 for my friend's trip in November. I had to do overlapping times, though - no other availability. So I just changed her daughter's age in MDE to 7, then I could book 3 individual overlapping times.

I've never actually done this yet- my grandson didn't need a FP+ last year as he was under 3 so I was curious. Never occurred to me to just change his age.

Thanks all. I am not seeing the benefit of splitting the FP+ for 7DMT in my situation. I nor my wife really care to ride alone so I believe it is best for me to keep all three of us on FP for it.

I am fairly confident though at one point I had her a FP+ for just her at A&E. Like it was said above I believe this was accomplished through modifying the times or rides individually.

But what we plan to do, is get the rider swap anyway because we have a 6 month old. So, someone will have to stay with her anyway. Then after however many of us ride it the first time, the person that stayed behind will use their FP and then some of us will use the rider swap and ride again.

We did this on our last trip. It gave my older nieces a chance to ride everything twice. We were in a bug group, and I usually stayed behind with our then 8 month old while the group rode. When they were done, I went on with my nieces (their second time).
