How far in advance can I make FastPass+ selections?
If you have a Disney-operated Walt Disney World resort reservation, you can make FastPass+ selections starting at 60 days from your check-in date, up through the length of your reservation (including check-out day), for as many days as your ticket length. If you have tickets that are longer than your reservation, you can then continue you make additional FastPass+ selections 60 days from the date in question, up until your check-in date arrives. At that point, you cannot make selections beyond the 60th day from the check-in date, until you get to 30 days away as a non-resort guest as explained below.
To clarify by way of example, if your check-in date is July 1st and is for 5 days/4 nights (check out on July 5th), and you have a 10-day Magic Your Way ticket with No Expiration, you can begin making FastPass+ reservations on May 2nd, and can make FP+ selections for July 1st through the 5th (5 days worth). You still have five days left on your ticket (perhaps you are staying off-site later), so on May 7th you can book FastPass+ for July 6th (60 days from that date), and on May 8th you can boot July 7th, etc. As long as you have less days of FastPass+ booked than your ticket length, you can do this up until July 1st comes around, when you can book August 30th but you cant book beyond August 30th at all until you get to August 2nd, at which point you can book August 31st, and follow the 30 day rule from then.
Guests at the Swan and Dolphin resorts, although not operated by Disney, also can start at 60 days if they enter their reservation information in to the My Disney Experience site. Other resorts may also be added in the future.
All others, including Annual Passholders without an on-site reservation and off-site guests, can start making FastPass+ selections at 30 days out from the day of question.
Note: not all experiences are necessarily available at 60 days out, and may appear closer to the day in question. Reserved viewing areas for parades, etc. typically do not appear sooner than approximately 2-3 weeks ahead of time.
As long as it's on one reservation you should be able to.
You should be able to book for the lenght of stay if it is a split stay also, as long as it is all on onsite....at least I was able to for the trip I just returned from.
Ok, I'm being thick here but....
We have hotel ressie 21 sept to oct 4. Ticket wise 2 of the party will have either a 9 day magic your way ticket (expiring) OR the 14 day uk tickets. The other 2 of the party will have 5 individual day ticket (ie 5 one day ones not a 5-day ticket). We were planning on doing more WDW in second week. Will I still be able to book tickets for the whole group throughout my entire stay as long as I don't make them for more than the 5 days worth? Or will it force me to make them in the first 5/9 days of the holiday? Does that make sense?
Doc, nice write up. Even if it is making my head swim. But that's not your fault!

You can make group reservations for all for 5 days any time within the reservation stay. Then you start having to pick and choose who you are making them for for the additional days.
that's a relief cause I'd worked out a whole plan with universal, SW etc. we actually have 9 individual tickets for the 2 party members but we can only attach 5 tickets per guest on mde so we'll have to go for last min fp stuff on those days xThank youthat's a relief cause I'd worked out a whole plan with universal, SW etc. we actually have 9 individual tickets for the 2 party members but we can only attach 5 tickets per guest on mde so we'll have to go for last min fp stuff on those days x

Why are you using nine individual tickets for them? That's very much not cost effective, unless you have no choice but to use the tickets...
I should also warn, "your experience may vary"...since this system isn't exactly the paragon of stability or consistency.![]()

I'm a uk based cast member and we get given a few free individual tickets each year. My colleagues have given me their spare ones so it's not costing us anything for those individual day tickets![]()
