Fourth of July weekend

Ok, I know it is early. But hubby and I are going to sneak away and do a secret trip. How where crowds last year? Was it like pres. weekend? I'm sure it will be packed but its just the two of us so we can move slow and not worry about riding everything!

My mom, dad and nephew went to DL last 4th of July weekend and were shocked at how surprising NOT crowded it was. I also had a co-worker who took her son to DL for the two days prior to the 4th and said the same thing... surprising NOT crowded.

In 2006 we were there over two weeks including 4 July and as we had a 14 day pass we went in on 4 July expecting crowds. It ended up being the quietest day we were there, we think this is because all but the most expensive AP is blacked out on this day and a lot of the locals pass on it. We got to ride Splash twice without having to get off as there was no one waiting!!!! Never saw anything like it for the rest of our trip.

This year the 4th lands on a Fri. so I was thinking people would make a long weekend of it. We may wait til Aug.

Glad it's just the two of you. Pres Day last year (OMG...I was happy to be at DL but I just wanted to take all the kids and go back to the hotel!!!!) 4th of July - for us, it's so crowded it's a "not for the rest of my life will I ever even THINK about it!" Lol...we're NOT crowds people, even before kids we couldn't handle it.

Depends on what you determined crowded. Waiting for Splash for 2.5 hrs is crowded? Or 1.5 for Space? We were there the week before the 4th last year and on the 4th. Most of the time we were able to do what we wanted but on the 4th about mid day the it started to get crowded and later in the evening it was wall to wall people. We just left the park after the 4th fireworks cause you couldn't even get around. We usually go for 7 days and we are AP's so we know what we are doing. The 4th is on Friday this year so I would imaging it will be crowded. We are going the week before 06/21/08-06/28/08
