Fourth of July Trip Reports

Last year, I was planning our trip for the week leading up to the Fourth of July. We actually left on the fourth - so if you want you can PM me or I can share information of what I learned through this thread. I think it would be fun for me to share ideas with you and hear about your plans.

I am sure others are also planning for July and may find this thread interesting too. I actually started a trip report but it was closed and moved to the completed trip board before I finished it. I have been thinking about starting a second trip report for the remainder of my trip.

Ok ! Great I'm reading through now. I had no choice but to book the week of the fourth that's the only vacation time he has every year and we have not went because I refused to go in July like a good disser But I cave I gotta see the mouse !

We went for our first time ever in July last year. We arrived after driving from Pittsburgh, PA on the third. We were planning to just rest on the third but my brother heard that MK was staying open late(we were onsite) that night. We think maybe they did this to lesson the crowds for the next day. They stayed open an hour past extra magic hours until 2AM. We went to MK and got so much accomplished that evening. We were just able to jump on rides.
This turned our plans around and we did late hours every evening. There was another night that they stayed open an hour past extra magic hours also I think it may have been on the fourth. We always went more toward the evening. We went to Hollywood Studios for the fourth. It was busy but we were expecting that. We ended up skipping the fireworks and going on extra rides which were completely deserted. The difficult part was walking over the people sitting on the roads. There was no path for walking traffic. It seemed to die out after the fireworks and we stayed again for extra magic hours. The evening extra magic hours were awesome and we got to see so much compared to a friend of mine that went a month earlier and started their days earlier.

It is hot and we brought mister fans and water.

Anything else you want to know?

Now help me. I am trying to decide when to go again: in 2011-May, October or November?
I am looking for info on weather, price, crowds, etc...

Go in October there is nothing like MNSSHP ! You will be so happy ! And if they do FD You will be even happier !

I went in 2007 for the 4th of July.. it was SO hot we were all sweating buckets the second we stepped outside and it did not stop all day. You could not pay me to go to WDW in July ever again! However, if that was the only time we could go, I would do it again in a heartbeat. Drink a LOT of water and make sure to hit the pool!
