Does anyone know if Disney puts off fireworks on fourth of July if the ship is at sea? The cruise we're looking at on the Magic is over the 4th of July, 2005. :) Thanks!

I don't know for sure BUT I would highly doubt it for safety reasons. You might be able to see some on your TV. LOL

You bet! We were on the Wonder on 7/13 and a small ship followed us out of Nassau for a while until sunset. Then fireworks were shot from that boat. It was AWESOME!!! (OK, I'll admit it, we had a veranda on the small boat side so it was like a private show but STILL!)

We were on the Wonder 4th of July weekend, and the fireworks show was spectacular! I have full details in the trip report on my website, but we viewed it from the upper deck and happened to choose a spot that was right across from the barge where they were shot. It was nothing like the little "firework" they used to shoot at the deck party. It was a real full-fledged show, set to music. So festive and a great way to celebrate the 4th.

KarenB: since you'll be at Key West that day, I wonder if you'll watch their fireworks, or if Disney will put them off after leaving the port.

For us, the July 2 cruise is a bit more than the June 4 or July 30 - if there are fireworks, I we'll definetly take it. :)

We had no fireworks during our July 4th 2001 Wonder cruise. Glad to hear you guys had great fireworks:sunny:

We sailed on the Magic over July 4th, 2002. The 4th fell on a "sea day" and there were no fireworks however, they did have lots of festivities. There was a special 4th party on deck that day with lots of songs, characters and dancing. After the show that night they had a very moving tribute to the US that ended with video of the flag on the stern of the ship with Lee Greenwood's Proud to Be An American playing in the background. There was a special optional menu in all the restaurants that evening that you could choose (bar-b-q, pot. salad, apple pie, etc) and they handed out special champagne glasses to everyone while the capt. made a toast over the PA system. That evening there was a party in the atrium with a balloon drop afterwords. Since this was the first 4th after Sept 11, security was extra tight both on board and in the ports. Even w/o the fireworks it was a great way to spend the holiday. Enjoy your trip!
