Four Years Have Passed In A Heartbeat! - Pictures Added!

I'm in the same club - my daughter will be graduating in four weeks!! I remember being on a thread with you, Peg, about our girls going off to college four years ago. I can't believe they are finished and ready to go out in the real world!!

Note to melsmice - sorry I missed you at WDW - I got sick and had fever/chills for the first few days. Hope we'll get a chance to say hi next time!!
Congrats!
Thanks, everyone! Melsmice and DVCLiz, congrats to your DDs as well!

Kendall is not totally sure what she will be doing. She'd like to get a teaching job, but that isn't looking real good. She may do some tutoring to begin with. She wants to get a second degree in social work so that she can move to California and become an on-set instructor. She thinks this is the ideal way to combine her love for acting and teaching.

In the meantime, she plans on auditioning for some local films. She hasn't had a lot of time for acting over the past four years.

I think it will be a few months before she really figures out a direction, but that's okay. It gives me a little more time with her!
Congrats!

Big accomplishment for both of you Peggy. Congrats:thumbsup2

Oh wow, time does go by so very quickly.

Peggy, seems like just last month you were posting about Kendall leaving for collage. She has done well and I know you are one proud mama.

To all the mothers and all the daughters, congratulations!

My Sarah is graduating from high school this year too.

I've been here a while and I've certainly read about everyone's kids. I can't believe that so much time has passed but then mine will be a senior next year. What happened to that little boy?

Congratulations to your daughter on a great achievement! I think the bittersweet happens at any age - DS is only 8yo but I miss the baby years and am really not looking forward to the teenage years! It feels like the first 8 years flew by so I am sure the next will be equally as fast - and I seriously am not sure I want that to happen!! When you are young you want everything to hurry up and then as you get older you want everything to slow down!! Oh well, such is life....

It does seem like yesterday! I remember your posts from that time. I know you are very proud of Kendall. Graduating with honors is a wonderful accomplishment!

Thanks, everyone! Melsmice and DVCLiz, congrats to your DDs as well!

On-set instructor sounds really interesting! I didn't know they had to have a degree in social work in order to do that. The things you learn on the DIS!

Is she really? Wow. I thought about y'all this week at Disney. Not sure what jogged it, but I did think about y'all. Congrats to Kendall!! What an accomplishment. :)

Peggy, surely four years hasn't gone by already! I remember meeting you and Kendall when you came to watch the girls dance at MK. Where does the time go? Last night we had opening for senior musical, and one of the ads was a picture of the girls dancing that day in Magic Kingdom. It seems like a lifetime ago! Karen graduates from high school in three years. Carrielee is finishing up her first year of college. Wow....life moves too quickly......

Congratulations to you and Kendall!

Congrats on a job well done! I remember when she was just going off to college and now she is finished!!

Those of you who have been around the DIS for awhile probably remember me posting about my DD, Kendall, getting ready to go off to college. That was four years ago. It seems like yesterday.

Next Saturday, Kendall will graduate Magna cum Laude from Florida State University. I will be making, what is probably my last, trip to Tallahassee to attend the graduation ceremony.

Now, a new phase of her life is about to begin. My little girl is an adult and ready to begin a life on her own. I have very mixed emotions about this. I am so proud of her and want to see her experience life as an adult. I've always told her to follow her dreams. One part of me, however, wants my little girl back. So many memories surrounding our trips to WDW and, finally, our move to the area. I just can't imagine not having her near.

I guess I need to start concentrating on me being me again instead of me being mom. Well, maybe in a few years, I'll be showing my grandchildren around WDW.

Hug your children my friends. They grow up so fast and life speeds by in the wink of an eye.

When they enter kindergarten you think that their time in elementary school is so long and it is over in a flash. When they enter high school you think that 4 years sounds like forever and before you know it they are filling out college and university applications. You pack them up thinking that they will still need you for another 4 years and then you are attending their final graduation. It is amazing how that time just flies by.

I look at families with little ones and can't believe that I was just like them such a long but so short time ago. It feels so strange.

Aww Peg, you must be so very proud!! :thumbsup2
Seems Kendall has grown up with all of us, as we've so enjoyed hearing about her over the years.
Sending hugs and prayers for the best life has to offer on her future endeavors! :flower3:
Congrats to all our Dis graduates and parents ~ the best is yet to come!!

Thanks, my friends and congrats to all your graduates!

In a few years, we will all be here discussing our grandchildren and how they are starting kindergarten....the circle of life! :goodvibes

Wow that flew by. I remember when she was leaving for college. Congrats to you both!

That is a great idea for her. Congrats on the great college career. Our "4 years" starts this fall. In "Mom Years" he should be about 8 when you look back at how long they have been around.

Tell her to get her name on as many sub lists as she can. Most people I know get into a school either through their internship or subbing. Around here you can sub pretty much every day of the week if you want. You don't get benefits but you do make a name for yourself. Also, with her acting background, that may help her get a teaching job if she is willing to supervise school plays. I know of a Catholic K-8 school in MN that would LOVE to have her on staff.

Well, it's over! The ceremony was very nice, although very long! Now, on to bigger and better things!
