Four-mer TKers...4 one, 4 all, 4 ever

Hi All,
Hoping to have a quieter weekend this time. DH is going to the Indy race in Milwaukee with his brother so its just me and the kids this Sunday - :scared::crazy2: Talk about cracking out the wine. :drinking1 Think I'll go buy a box.

Good evening everyone!
Hey M&N you watch J+K+* to? I love that show. I feel bad for everything they are going through right now, true they probably did bring allot of it on themselves but I still feel bad for them. Did you watch the season premiere? What did you think of it?
It's probably just a publicity stunt. I think that couple just likes to have themselves in the spotlight. Never thinking how this affects the kids. :sad2: Such a shame.

Our kids are in school until June 25th...so I've still got almost a month of peace left:woohoo:...they go back late this year though...school doesn't start up until Sept 8th!!

DS is off to a sleepover tonight so Tod suggested DD have a friend over so I'll have two screaming 7 year olds...better get out the wine!!

TTYL
You're so lucky they go until the 25th. We're done the 11th. Not sure when they go back yet. You'll see my ticker sometime mid summer.

Racetrack - for 8 days. I know you'll have a great time.

M&N - Did you have a chance to go to Dover this weekend - and turned it down???

Whgrn - to ex's
We know you've always had a snarky side. :rotfl2: That's why we love ya.

Two days in a row ha ha. Monday/Tue/Wed I will be in Atlantic City. I hope it is more festive in June than it is in March..or has been anyway ha ha.

:lmao: At least she picked a great place to stay. Don't think she was there long enough to get her money's worth from the refillable cups though...

Stop by any time...

I know ha ha ha. The Grand Floridian!!! :rotfl:

Hey pepper!!!! How are things going besides busy? I've been right there too. Never enough time anymore. Are we still on for the 14th? If you got stuff going on, it's cool. Are you still thinking of coming to the tker meet?

Heck yea for the 14th sounds fun and I am looking forward to it.

I am still thinking about the TK meet. I am leaning towards probably.

Magikitty- Hmmmm,. name ideas...what if we go with something fun and spunky like...ummmm hmmmm...okay, I'm thinking ha ha.

Wendy- Back to Scotland! You lucky duck!

Livin- Did I congratulate you yet? If not....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My kids finish the 23rd, and go back Sept 3. First time they have gone back before Labor Day. No complaints from me! Plus, they have 2 weeks off for Passover/Easter, so we will certainly go somewhere one week. Not sure where yet. Cruise maybe. I would love to do something that goes out of NY or Philadelphia or Bayonne--no flying required! Gotta check it out...

Ya no, I really really wish I liked wine. Y'all get to relax with a glass of wine and it sounds so nice, but I honestly hate the stuff. *sigh*

Hi all:

Ev-Tell Tod that's he's Jon and you are Kate...He has to stay home and watch the kids and you can go on tour! :confused3 Don't think it would really work either but worth a try!

The only problem would be explaining who the heck they are...can't say I've ever watched the show...like DL I don't watch a lot of TV and I really don't like the idea of making $ off your kids.

Today I packed everything I will be taking for the trip, as a "dry run". It fits just fine in my medium suitcase and carryon!! YAY. I am packing VERY light. As long as they dont lose my luggage I will be OK. Even if it arrives late it will be a problem, as my kilt will not be in the carryon, and I need that the first night. Well, I will just have to take the chance. My regular clothes are WAY more important!

Of course, I would have room for both if I didnt have to bring all these stupid dressing supplies...

My problem was always packing to come home...everyone always wanted chocolate so I'd have a suitcase full of Cadbury bars and no room for my clothes.

Ya no, I really really wish I liked wine. Y'all get to relax with a glass of wine and it sounds so nice, but I honestly hate the stuff. *sigh*

No wine :scared1: it's sometimes the only way I make it through the day.

Don't feel bad Wendy. I don't like Wine either. Give me a good ol' Diet Coke any day.

You are right though, it does sound relaxing ha ha.

I have never understood the concept of "enjoying" wine with dinner either. Ewwww. :rotfl:

I have never understood the concept of "enjoying" wine with dinner either. Ewwww. :rotfl:

No... wine must be consumed by itself to truly be enjoyed. :lovestruc
I love a good glass of cheap wine after dinner. Don't drink it much otherwise. Family has asked me why I don't have a wine rack in my kitchen. Why should I have a wine rack? It would always be empty.

I still exist... just trying to do my mandatory check in. I don't want to wind up on anybody's siggie... :rolleyes1

If you would actually like to try wine, try an "Ice Wine" if you can find one. They are very sweet. DH was never a wine fan, and he had some of that when we visited Canada and the conversion began... (I can't stand the stuff personally, way too sweet for me, but its all a matter of taste. There's such a wide variety.)

whgrn Exes :headache: I don't talk about mine and he never cared about his daughter (DH adopted her) so I just refer to it as "that period of time I don't talk about" :flower3:
I didn't mean to infer that I don't watch TV..watch too much HGTV and DH is afraid I might try some of those ideas.
Although we don't drink much wine, we usually like white. We attended some wine tasting on our last cruise. The person giving the talk was great. In fact at one of our dinners we splurged and had a red wine and actually enjoyed it.

Ev, I brought goodies home for everyone last summer--had almost an entire carryon full of shortbread. This year I will bring something for each of the kids, and whatever I get for myself, but thats it. Also, we can ship stuff home, which saves space. I do have extra space in the suitcases, and all the dressing supplies will be used up, so I will have that space too.

That being said, I feel like I am watching my trip go down the toilet. Remember I said my DSis was looking into Wound care centers for me? Well, I was looking at one of the websites today and seeing the stuff they do, and I just think they are going to do this wierd dressing that I had 3 years ago that a nurse has to come change every 3 days and its awful, and that I will end up with a PICC line (a central IV line) for IV Vancomycin, and that I wont be going ANYWHERE! (well, I will still do Hershey, thats easy enough) I just have this sinking feeling this is what is going to happen. I will ask when I go though, if after 6.5 years of a hole in my gut, an extra 5 or 6 weeks is really gonna make that much difference. If not, I come home Saturday the 8th, and I will be at the WCC on Monday the 10th. Please pray that will be the case! I know I need to take care of my body, but my mind NEEDS this trip to keep the few shreds of sanity that are left!!

Now I REALLY wish I liked wine! I have tried the sweet wines, BTW, and wine coolers, and all that stuff. I just hate it all. *sigh* I did splurge tonite at dinner and drink a glass of organic lemonade though!:lmao:

I was telling my Mom and my brother about the Flat TKers, and they thought it was hilarious! Mom taught 1st grade for 35 years, so she is quite familiar with Flat Stanley, and thought this was a clever alternative. BTW, can I have us from Hershey so we can all go to Scotland? (assuming I go, that is) Maybe we can all go look up some guy's kilt!!:rotfl2:

 lighttech!!

Hidy Ho ladies! Finally I get a chance to drop in and play catch up. Man, has that taken awhile!

Ahhh, I remember when I got to choose a paint color for my room. Lilac. Didn't really matter because it was mostly covered by posters.... well except for the spot where my dad ripped down my shirtless Peter Frampton. Anyway, I did eventually get sick of that color but was stuck with it til I moved out of the house when I got married.

My DD's room is pink. We had a mural of a castle done on one wall. I wonder just how long it will be before she is tired of that. She loves to draw and sticks her pictures up everywhere but I do make her use the blue painters tape so it comes off easily without ripping the paint off.

We have had graduation invitations pouring in like crazy. 4 just today.
A dear friend of mine also sent her DD's prom pics. After taking a look at them I have decided that I am an old prude! Helping decide wall colors is one thing but helping pick prom dresses must be another. Apparently, my idea and her idea of what is appropriate are two very different things. I do not know how she took the pic without saying "Um, dear your B**B is about to fall out of the dress". And then I cannot imagine sending my daughter out and being proud that the first thing that people notice about her is gonna be her chest. There was absolutely nothing left to the imagination. I would love to share the photo to see if anyone else thinks I am overreacting so if anybody wants to help me prove I am not losing my mind please PM me and I will send a photo to see what your thought is.

whgrn, I LOVE YOUR PORCH! We have a nice sized porch but it is full of stuff. Where oh where do you find slaves to help clean it off? Besides that how do you ever find the time to stop and enjoy it? I have high hopes someday but it looks like it is probably gonna be when the kids are finally grown.
I am so sorry to hear that your dad was falsely informed about being next on the transplant list. That is just so unfair! I cannot believe that someone could have made that big of a mistake. I bet you are not only dissappointed but a little ticked off! I'll send up another prayer for him.
Bless your heart! You have been having more than your share of trouble going on. I do agree that it is not fair for your son to put your DD in the position of being so afraid. I feel for you but honestly have no good advice to offer... just more prayers. And, some for you and your tummy too. I hope it all works out so it does not interfere with your trip.

MagiKitty, It sounds like you had a good time with your family.
I think I vaguely remember you mentioning that you were in on Pinecone Research. Are there any good tips for getting your foot in the door?
I've made a few dollars here and there doing surveys but not much to speak of. I think I have done some Mytwocents as well.

D&DDisney, oh my! What a scary thing those seizures are! Our son-IL had a couple several years ago and has to take medication but at least it is treatable. It did take them some time to figure out why he was having them. I hope they find the cause for your MIL and are able to come up with a treatment for her. I will send a prayer your way and hope that she has no more occurrences.
So sorry to hear that you are still having problems with your son too. I cannot even begin to imagine how stressful it must be.

:wave2: M&N! I am gonna keep trying to work on my vacation fund but life just keeps getting in the way! Weekends are out of the question because everything revolves around DH. Then throughout the week the time just seems to fly! I am trying to make an effort to keep a few auctions running every week. Lord knows I could do that for the rest of the year and still have too much stuff in my house! I am with you! I love my Disney Visa! Oh, and we have something else in common too.... I tend to kill plants on a regular basis myself! We do have quite a few crepe myrtles around our house. They are very beautiful when in bloom and seem to be very hardy. I haven't killed them yet! They also are very happy in lots of heat because they are everywhere here in Texas.
So you name your car, huh? Doesn't everybody?

Yesterday my days interruption was tending to one of our cats most of the day. She turned up missing Thursday night and when I finally found her Friday she looked like hell and something had left some pretty bad puncture marks on her sides. We raced her to the vet because I had no idea how badly injured she was. Got there right about lunch time so the vet had me leave her for observation and to do some exploring to see how bad of shape she was in. They were supposed to call me and let me know what they found but instead I waited all afternoon and they finally got around to calling me right before they closed at 5:00. I had just enough time to get there before the doctor left. He said he had never seen anything quite like it but was pretty sure she had been attacked by a canine, either dog, coyote or fox. Thankfully no internal injuries and she is going to be okay. I am glad because she is the most favorite cat I have ever had but I am still in shock after ending up with a $344 bill. So much for my ebay profits!

DL55, I've got one of those periods of time that I prefer to forget too. My DH calls his "the dark ages". I don't have an actual name for mine... it's just more like a chunk of time lost. Really, not lost because I would not be where I am today if I had not gone through it but I still have no idea what I was thinking. AH HA! That's it! I wasn't thinking!

I'm doing much better now.

Happy Sunday all:

It's a beautiful sunny day but unfortunately only around 40*F...brrr...what happened to a nice spring??

If you would actually like to try wine, try an "Ice Wine" if you can find one. They are very sweet. DH was never a wine fan, and he had some of that when we visited Canada and the conversion began... (I can't stand the stuff personally, way too sweet for me, but its all a matter of taste. There's such a wide variety.)

We are famous for our Ice wines...there are a lot of good ones from the Niagara area vineyards...not really my thing, find them way to sweet.

Ev, I brought goodies home for everyone last summer--had almost an entire carryon full of shortbread. This year I will bring something for each of the kids, and whatever I get for myself, but thats it. Also, we can ship stuff home, which saves space. lighttech!!

Already have an order into my Mom for Crunchies and Kit Kats, my fav chocolate bars...that sucks about your dressing...is there no way to see a doctor using your insurance?? I'm lucky enough to have several cousins who are doctors over there so have an in.

It's OK that you guys don't like wine...I drink enough for all of us.:rotfl:

Hidy Ho ladies! Finally I get a chance to drop in and play catch up. Man, has that taken awhile!

mmm...shirtless Peter Frampton...I had one of those!!:lovestruc

hello everyone!
whgrn You must get that hole patched up. It's just not right to go around with an extra hole in your body. ;) Please bring the flat TKers as that may be the only way I get to "visit" Scotland.

We have had bits of rain all week, feels like August not May.
Rescued a dove in our garage. He was trying to fly out the closed window instead of the open garage door. :sad2:

 mariezp!! Nice to "see" you! Your DD's room sounds so pretty with the mural. OMG please do PM me those prom pix! I dont think I will have that problem--my issue will be getting DD into a fancy dress!:rotfl2:
Glad you like the porch. We may eat out there tonite if it warms up a bit (only about 70 right now). As far as the slaves, they live here, they work. End of story! Thanks for your good wishes.

I too have the "kill the plants" gene. Odd, since my parents were both big gardeners when I was a kid (Daddy had a HUGE veggie garden, and Mom's flower beds were legendary.), and my Grandfather was a farmer! Guess that green thumb thing skipped my generation, since DSis is as hopeless as I am!

Sorry to hear about your kitty. Hope she'll be fine. Keep her safe! Poor baby.

I love the "dark ages" concept. It fits well, as things were a bit medievel!!:lmao:

D&D how is MIL doing? Did they ever figure anything out?

Ev, what are "Crunchies"?? Never heard of those. I love KitKats though! My insurance does cover the doctor--so far I have just seen the surgeon, the one who did the hernia repair. My plan is a Wound care center. I think I may not wait til DSis gets home. I may call and see if they can get me in this week. The sooner I start, the sooner I finish, and maybe I can salvage my trip.

 Kitty, Racetrack, Lighttech, M&N, Pikester and Sukie, and everyone else! Its been too quiet on here!

BTW, please notice my post count... I'm certainly doing MY part!

Good Morning All,
DH went to the Indy race and I am here with the boys.
sFi_hammers.gif
God help me!!!Gotta get them outside soon.

(assuming I go, that is) Maybe we can all go look up some guy's kilt!!:rotfl2:
 lighttech!!

I will hopefully get the TKers from LITC soon and I will give them to you at Hershey. I guess y'all won't be going with us to see ol' Barak in DC though. :guilty:

Marie - you can PM me the pic and I'd be glad to comment. I know what you mean about girls' dresses. Can't be too careful. :scared:

Hi Lighttech! Are you coming to Hershey too???? Hope so. Would be great to see the boys. :yay:

Hey everyone!!! Weather is beautiful here. It's already 75, sunny with a slight breeze.

We got some bad news this past week. My stepmom has cancer. I've been trying to wrap my mind around it since my mom is fighting cancer as well. It looks like stepmom will be starting chemo while we are vacation. She is handling it pretty well. My dad is dealing with it ok for now. But it has hit him pretty hard since he had to see my mom go through chemo as well. I still have to tell my kids about it and am dreading it. I don't even know if I should do it now or wait until after vacation. It might be wrong but I don't know if I want them worrying about while we are gone.

lighttech, nice to see you. How's the family? Stop in when you can. Miss ya!

Wendy, you get yourself taken care of and I'll keep my fingers crossed that all works the way you want them to.

DL55, I only watch American Idol for the first couple of weeks too. I just can't help myself. I know it's mean to laugh at some of those people but I think it's meaner that someone told them that they can sing.

I know I forgot some of you so I'll just say HI!!!!!!!

Off to give the dog a bath today. Need to dig out the bathing suit because we'll be drenched by the time we are done.

Oh racetrack, I am SO sorry to hear about your StepMom. I watched my aunt go through it and it is so hard. I will keep her and you in my prayers.

D&D, no, I will skip the trip to DC, thank you very much! :lmao: But I can't wait to see you in Hershey!

lighttech I do hope you are joining us in Hershey! Heck, we will be right in your neighborhood, so you gotta come!!!

I'm just sitting here eating cherries, happy as a clam. I LOVE cherries! (gee, doesnt take much to make me happy, does it?)

Racetrack - So sorry about your stepmom.
2.gif
I'll be praying for her.
We just gave our dog a bath on Friday.
3.gif
Good Luck!

I'm just sitting here eating cherries, happy as a clam. I LOVE cherries! (gee, doesnt take much to make me happy, does it?)
:thumbsup2 I could eat a whole bowl of those babies.

Kitty - They boys received your postcards yesterday. Thanks! So excited to meet your roller coaster loving nephew. Maybe we can send the kids off to ride the rides while we have a cool drink in the shade.

Good afternoon ladies. DH is gone and the kids are doing their own things for a few minutes so maybe I can sneak in a few peaceful moments before I get interrupted! We'll see how long it takes before someone needs something.....

BKMETV, that is so funny that you had a Frampton poster too. I wonder just how many teeny bopper girls had him on their walls. He was a cutie in his time! I looked him up and he is still making music. He has a lot less hair than he used to though.
I don't like wine either so you can drink my share too!

whgrn & D&DDisney I PMed you with the pics of the prom dress. Can't wait to see what ya'll think. It's probably just me. :rolleyes2 I was raised to be modest so, of course, I don't think normal. At the time I remember thinking I was terribly tortured because I couldn't dress like everyone else. Funny now because I will probably be implementing the same sort of "dress codes" on my own daughter. Now that I have a child of my own I figure it doesn't hurt to leave a little something to the imagination instead of just putting it all out there for every teenage boy (or pervert) to drool over. (JMHO) When my DS is "drooling" I usually ask him if he would really want his girl looking like said girl does... for all the world to see... or if he would prefer she keep it to herself and not share with everybody else. He usually nods in agreement. Not that my DH helps at all.... he is usually right there drooling like any other fool!

D&DDisney, I hope you are surviving your boys! I know just how you feel.
I do look forward to the day when my oldest son finally decides he is old enough to not fight with his sister who is 10 years younger than he is. He picks, she picks, he annoys, she screams. AAAAAGH!

racetrack18kb, I am so sorry to hear about your stepmom. When it rains it really pours, doesn't it? Sending hugs and prayers your way.

My gardening skills have improved but I think that just comes after lots of trial and error. Just have to kill enough plants and weed out the ones that are tough enough to survive me, the soil conditions and the Texas heat. So far the winners are Sage, Lantana, English Ivy, Cannas, Iris, Honeysuckle, Moss Rose and those Crepe Myrtles.

I have several rose bushes but they always look like crap. Too much maintenance for me... but they are pretty tough cause I still haven't killed em yet! Matter of fact, I had one that was beautiful but had planted it in the wrong place. (not good to have in your croquet court) So I dug it, transplanted it and it died. BUT I must have missed a root because the next spring a baby sprouted up in the old spot.... so I transplanted again but this time in the fall. So far so good. Guess what, another new baby is in the original spot again so I will be transplanting that one this fall. Hopefully this will be the last one cause I am running out of places to move it.

I got the kitty her meds today and she is 100% better. She really wants to go outside but will have to remain captive at least til the stitches heal. We had to put one of those cones around her neck to keep her from pulling out the stitches. Her sides are shaved so now she looks like an alien poodle.

I made it through this entire post without a single interruption! Something fishy going on here!
