Four-mer TKers...4 one, 4 all, 4 ever

Hi,
Just checking in quick before the festivities begin.

Pikester - Every time I hear of a bat story I think of a young girl 13 in northern WI who found a bat in church. Felt sorry for it so she helped it get back outside. Didn't realize it bit her. Weeks passed and she got very sick. So very sick they almost lost her. Luckily the docs at our childrens hospital tried an experimental treatment for rabies - never done before. She managed to survive but she is the only person to survive. Don't mean to scare you but be better safe than sorry with DS. Maybe call the doc and ask what he/she recommends. Might be worth it to get the shots.:scared:

Thanks for compliments on the cake. I'm not real into it as a hobby or anything, but I like to do it just for my kids b-days. Sorta like planting an extra special memory just for them. Here is the website I use to get my ideas for cakes. http://www.coolest-birthday-cakes.com/

Racetrack - :hug:right back at ya! My son has also moved from just getting a fix from me yelling to provoking violence (hitting/physical). :sad2: He'll come at me kicking or one time with an object. It has been very scary. They make ya so crazy you almost lose YOUR sanity.

Marie - Its a jungle out there. People are so bent on getting EVERYONE to stay on-site that they just can't hold back their opinion - even it you don't want it. Just ask us any questions you have. We'll help ya w/o forcing any opinions on ya.

HAPPY 900TH POST LITC!!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Pikester That's scary about the bat. Not because I'm afraid of them (in fact I like them) but they can carry rabies. How did the boys find the bat? It's not a good sign if the bat was out in the middle of the day.

I remember my Dad would bring a flask of whiskey on our camping trips. Said it was for medicinal purposes. :lmao: I never actually saw him drink from it.

mariezp Sorry about your thread. I've gone to both parks. I wouldn't bother staying on site at DLR but do like to stay on site at WDW. I guess I should look for your thread. I haven't checked out the resort threads for awhile since I'm not planning any trip too soon. I'm sorry to hear you didn't get birthday cakes. I hope you have made some for yourself (I just buy a cake as a gift to me :flower3:)

Still cold and blustery here so we are making it a nice lazy day. We just got through watching "Last of the Dogmen". Have any of you seen that? It's an older one starring Tom Berrenger and Barbara Hershey. I love it. Tom looks so rugged and handsome in it! Good movie if someone needs something new to watch.

D&DDisney
& racetrack18kb you have my admiration for hanging in and trying to love your kids through the tough stuff. I know there have got to be days when you are about to explode but obviously you are both cut out for the job. Just keep reminding yourself that God will not give you more than you can handle. As hard as it has to be for you those kids need your strength probably even more than you know. You are both awesome!

Ya'll sound like you are well aware of some folks frame of mind out there! Sheesh! If some of these people feel the need to mold the rest of us into their train of thought it makes me wonder what they do in real life. My thread was slipping away until someone bumped it back up with the fact that I owe it to myself to check out the onsite lodging. They said I just don't get it. Apparently they don't either.
There were some people who have actually answered my questions and have given me some good advice but later on is it just me or does it seem the thread has started taking on a new main topic? It's kinda made me a little less than enthusiastic about going back to check it out or come up with any new questions. I know I have never been to WDW before but I am not a complete moron. I do know what my family likes. You would think just because I have been to DL it has totally affected my ability to think clearly, apparently like some form of a handicap or something. You can bet your sweet boopie I will be asking any question I have here first from now on!
Here's the link for anybody seeking amusement.

racetrack18kb, your daughter ought to come visit at our house. She could find boo-koos of locust shells to bring you when it's the right time of year! Those things are everywhere. Does she bring you worms too?

DL55, I don't bother to make my own cake. I actually like pie much better than cake so I SPECIFICALLY tell DH that I want a such and such pie for my birthday so he has no chance of going wrong. :thumbsup2

Good evening! It seems that the DIS fixed whatever was wrong so I can now posting using the Reply Button instead of the Quick Reply Box. :woohoo:

Thank you everyone for expressing concern over DS7 and the bat. I have asked him over and over again if the thing bit him and he said no. There was a case here in NH where a roofer was working on a home and got stung by a bee, or so he thought. He got very, very, very sick and they finally figured out that he was bitten by a rabid bat. The poor man ended up dying.

From what I can put together, the kids were playing outside last night around 6:30p/7:00p. Some how the bat was disturbed from it's hibernating place and the neighbors cat was bothering it. The kids "rescued" it from the cat and were checking it out. According to my DH the bat was moving a little bit but was still in hibernating mode. I plan on calling the Doctors office on Monday but my DH keeps telling me to relax. Husbands!

marie: Sometimes people can be such creeps! I don't care if they are just kidding. When you're trying to get serious answers it's really annoying to have someone messing around.

LITC: Congrats on the 900!

Hi everyone! Like my new "look"? I know Donald being gone and the new siggie will take some getting used to, but I needed a change. :goodvibes

Marie- Wow! You guys had a fun little thread going for a while there. Why do people always feel like they have to shove their opinion on others? I have heard some of those rental houses at Disney are quite nice. A friend of mine stayed in one her last trip. She usually stays onsite. She said they had a blast and felt they had more privacy. :goodvibes

Pikster- Bats!!!!!

Racerchicky- Amen about the scariness out there. :scared1: And now with the political threads gone peeps are just trying to drum up arguments where ever they can!.

Okay here are pics of my son's Lego cake. Let me know what you think. This is my first time using fondant so I am not real good at it. That stuff is hard to work with. It rips very easy and doesn't mend well.

Wow! Great cake! Looks like you figured the fondant thing out after all. Great job!

Hello all you lovely TK people! Nobody on tonight?

Had to come on over here for the big 9-0-0 post!!

Just saying hello. :yay: Oh and HAPPY 900!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey pepper!!!! I love the new siggie. Dopey is one of favorites....for some reason, he just kinda reminds me of my husband. :rotfl:

Morning all...happy Sunday:

finally think I'm caught up...be busy the last few days and really got behind. Started quoting stuff to answer but something went wrong so I guess I'll wing it.:confused3

D&D - OK the Lego cake was Fabulous...and now my DS thinks he wants one...thank god his birthday's not 'til next Feb and hopefully he'll change his mind by then. In my house cake is either bought at the bakery or chocolate with assorted funky candies from the Bulk Barn sprinkled on top.

Marie - The boards are a scary place...TGM is similar in that way as well. You just have to take the info you want and ignore everyone else...TGM's best feature is the daily ratings...we stuck to green days and never had any crowd problems at all...no line up either.

I'll add DH's name to the Dopey list...mind you sometimes he's Grumpy instead. :rotfl:

Glad to hear your back & working OK Pike.

LITC - Congrats on 900 :dance3:

Good Morning

I am sorry that I have been away so long. DH was sick the beginning of the week and I have been doing fundraising for school and DD birthday party for the rest of the week.
We had a bowling party for DD's 12th and her friends on Friday. A good time was had by all.
One of the moms and I did mehndi for all the girls(a a good part of the staff) at the party-she was MUCH better at it than I was but she is from Pakistan and had a definite edge over me because she has done it most of her life and I just learned 2 weeks ago:lmao:.
I made DD's cake (a pink sparkling bowling ball) I will try to find pictures of it.

I hope all is well

:flower3:

The concert was GREAT!last weekend. I was a fun time with DH in San Antonio: beautiful spring weather, wildflowers for the drive over and a lot of wine consumed.

I will catch up tonight after the end of the festivities :rotfl:.

Pikester Your bat situation sounds a bit better. I was worried that they found it in the middle of the day.:scared:
mariezp Thanks for the link..as I forgot to look for it after leaving this thread. :confused3 I felt like the first poster asking why you weren't staying on site was respectful. There was only one that was a bit abrasive. Not too bad for the DIS. :rotfl2: I think you should try for the Whoop De Do dinner show. I would like to see it again but my DH says "been there, done that". :headache: He also looks more like Goofy. If he had long ears he would be Goofy. :rotfl:

I just wanted my TK friends to be among the very first to hear my news:

I reached goal weight this morning! Actually, 1 pound BELOW goal weight.:yay::cheer2::cool1:

Now I'm on mainentance and I'm scared to death! Never done this before...

I'll catch up later.

Happy Sunday everyone! Its been raining here since last night, but I'm thankful for the rain, especially after watching the news coverage. Is everyone ok out there/

D&D...that lego cake is fantastic! Kudos! You did a fantastic job!

LITC...congrats on the 900!

Sukie and Pikester...how did the shopping go? Mom and I hit the outlets on Friday and we did a little too well!

Pepper...your new look is perfect.

Whgrn...OMG! You made you goal weight! You rock!

Bopsmom...sounds like you've been having a lovely time. are you going to tell us more about the concert?

My father always advocate strong ginger tea to ward off the sniffles. If you doctor it with some honey, it is rather soothing.

Marie...sorry for the sour thread experience. sadly, it is all too common. its hard to sift through all the rubbish to find the actual true valuable information. BF and I are definitely offsite people. Frankly, we can't afford anything more than the values, and although the values are great, we like the larger spaces of some of the other places we've stayed at. At its root, BF and I like to have two TVs (we rarely agree on the same thing) and a fridge. In terms of Disney driving, I do find its a bit daunting at first. There aren't nearly enough signs for my liking. We have gotten lost a few times, but its really not that big of a deal, we just look for the next turn and go back. I will say, I do have a good sense of direction, and if you do too, you'll figure out Disney property fairly quick. We took the bus once, from DHS to Boma, and it was not a good experience. But, obviously, there are lots of people who swear by onsite and Disney transportation.

I've uninstalled Yahoo messenger then installed the newest version and it seems to have made a difference in my computer issues so far....

My BF would have to be Grumpy....

Have a good day everyone!

Hello all, thanks for all the congrats, seems like just yesterday I was strugglilng to hit 500!
Congrats to Wendy on the weight loss. And I can't even get my lazy self off the couch to go walk once in awhile.
Had to work a double at the 2nd job yesterday, haven't been so sore in I don't know how long.
I think I have a widsom tooth trying to poke through and its so swollen I can't close my mouth all the way. The dentist had to pull the last one, but it had already went through the gum, this one is not and I don't really want to find out what they would have to do to it. :scared1:
Probably be on and off today, have tons to do did half my running this morning/early afternoon and now I am waiting for hubby to wake up to finish.

Have a good day everyone!

I will tell about the concert.

Congrats Wendy!!!

Today is my birthday and I had to take DD shopping for hers-it was Friday and she got a lot of Target cards-we are at 'that stage' so (yuck) where I don't have the sense God gave a goose. Now I want to drink some wine and relax.

Hi all! Just a quick hello before I go off on my "virtual vacation" :rotfl:. I can't decide if I want to go Disney Restaurant hopping or Resort hopping. Oh well, lol off to the picture threads. :lovestruc

Wow! Great cake! Looks like you figured the fondant thing out after all. Great job!
Thanks Pepper! I love your new siggie. :thumbsup2

:lmao: I'm sure your DS will change his mind many times over before then. Mine do.

Marie - Thanks for the encouragement. Sometimes I think God has already given me more than I can handle and I am slowly breaking down. I'm going to go read your thread right now.

I just wanted my TK friends to be among the very first to hear my news:

Well, I lived through another party. Turns out my sis never showed cause she claims her kids were sick. However, she won't call me or talk to me so this is all passed on through my mom. I laughed when my mom told me she wouldn't be there. I said, "She never called to tell me she WOULD be there in the first place". Sheeesh! Whatever. :sad2:
We didnt' get as much snow as they predicted. Only a few inches. Thankfully it is 40 today and it is all melting slowly.
