Four-mer TKers...4 one, 4 all, 4 ever

Hi all. :goodvibes

Just a quick hello. I have had quite the day. I woke up this morning and the whole side of my face was swollen (like I got stung by a bee or something) I called my Dr. and he told me to go to ER. I was there all day!! They sent me for a CT scan to be sure it was not an abscess and made me stay hooked up to an IV all day. Turns out it was cellulitis that was probably caused by a small hole in the tooth I had a root canal done on a couple of months ago....ewwwwww. :rotfl:

Then I went to DS game. My Mom and Niece were there. Of course my mom FREAKED OUT when she saw my face. :rotfl: . It looks worse than it is though. I have to go to my Dr. on Monday (which I probably won't do cause I'm bad that way...I will call though)

I can't stay on tonight. DH needs the computer, but I wanted to say hi. I guess we are "shut down" later. Bummer.

Ouch Pepper!

What a crummy day for you. Hope you're feeling better soon!

I am actually home today. I talked my way out of going with DS to Jiu-Jitsu class this morning and stayed home to work in my yard. I took on the challenge of removing a honeysuckle bush. I WON! It put up quite the fight so now my poor puny arms are making their discomfort known because of the amount of effort they had to put out today. Heck, I think several parts of my body are crying out in agony! It was worth it though. I got to cross another project off my list. It looks like I have probably lost the entire race of getting everything done before spring but having this one done has really made my day.

Been doing a little research.... MY GOSH there is so much at WDW! This morning I was reading about things to do at Epcot. Has anyone taken kids to the Kidcot stations? The official website has this listed as an activity for preschoolers :confused3 but to me it sounded pretty cool for my 8 year old. Is she really going to be too old?

MagiKitty, I forgot to ask when your and Ev's birthdays are when you said we would be at WDW for them. Too bad they won't let me pick up your free birthday gift cards for you. If we had stayed closer to Christmas time we would have been there on my son's birthday, Dec. 20th but I am just not ready to brave those sort of crowds quite yet.
Thanks for your opinions on the sites to see. I'm gonna have to narrow down some of the things to see. Me and the kids would probably be happy going constantly but DH is gonna require some rest time. Is Cafe Tu Tu Tango family oriented? Aren't they the place that has belly dancers? Crocodile, huh? I may have to think about that one! Cruise sounds fun too but we will have the kids with us so guess we will have to wait on that. Coral Reef has just gained a top spot on my ressie list. I'm in for the creme brulee! Even better is that the whole family loves seafood so it will be right up our alley.

BKMETV, thanks for your tips. Just what kind of stuff does Ron Jon's Surf shop have to poke through? Flametree BBQ sounds like it would definitely be okay with my bunch from what I have seen on their menu.

D&DDisney, good luck on DS's cake! I always make an attempt at a home made birthday cake but they never look very good. Thank heavens they at least still taste good! DH and DS can't pick a simple cake.... they both ask me for Italian Creme Cake. Yummy but a pain in the rear. Tanks and volcanos? :confused3 I've never been that creative!

Snowflakes? Poor Racetrack! We need to wish a little harder for you to get warmer weather! Maybe send a little magic your way....:wizard: Can't wait to see the new hairdo pics!

Pikester, it won't be long and we can be making those ADRs. I imagine you have a better idea of where you want to go than I do. I am thankful that I still have plenty of time to study menus! It will be here before you know it though.

Sukie, we have been known to have popcorn for supper or other "nutritious" meals if the mood strikes us, especially if we have had a big meal for lunch.

whgrn, you have my sympathy! I HATE going clothes shopping. I am not much of an anything shopper.... I think that is why the invented the internet for me... but clothes shopping is the worst! Thankfully I hang out at home a lot so t-shirts, sweat and capris usually work for me. I hope something you brought home works for you.

WOW pepperw23! What a day! I hope you aren't feeling too bad and they get you taken care of ASAP.

Hi to anyone else I missed!

Well... here's hoping I get this posted before they shut the board down tonight. I have been working on it all day... between interruptions from the kids. Here goes.....

WOW!!!! Did you all see the new sticky at the top of the CB? No more political or religious threads. Nothing allowed in your siggie either. I'm not exactly how I feel about this. I never participated in any of them but once in a while, I did read them. I also thought many posters got away with being too nasty and definitely were pot stirring. And of course, at times, it seemed as though there were only political threads on here. I can understand how the TPTB feel since even fluff threads were getting turned into political ones. Things will definitely look different around here.

marie, my little ones did the kidcot stations in Epcot 2 years ago and they loved it. You are talking about the stations where they color the masks, right? The 2 little ones were 4 & 6 at the time. I would NOT classify this activity in the preschool range. My youngest enjoyed it but didn't get much out of it. And I know my soon to be 8 year old would still enjoy it. If your DD enjoys arts & crafts, let her do it if she is interested.

whgrn, I haven't been clothes shopping for myself for so long. And I really need to since things just don't seem to be fitting right anymore. I keep putting it off mostly since I just don't care for the clothes out there. I'm not old but geesh, I'm not 19 anymore either.

pepper, I hope you feel better soon.

D&D, it's permanent hair dye....for all of us. Mine will not be all that noticeable or shocking. But DH's is. It's about the color of this guy :scared1: I'm going to try and make him keep it like that for a while. Hopefully until fall.

Sukie, not gutsy....just a little strange and weird. :rotfl2:

Hi to anyone and everyone I might have missed. :flower3:

Welcome back Dis Board friends. Glad to see us up and running again.

Racetrack - :woohoo: Kyle won!!!! I say that mostly because I picked him to start and for once, my pick won! Gosh, too bad M&N is not here. This could have stirred up some great track smack! :drive:

I just found out that we won't be coming to Hershey the week of July 19th cause DH can't get off of work that week. Looks like it will be more like the week of July 26th. Let me know if we can change the date of the meet or if I will just miss it. :sad1:

I totally missed the end of the race. Had to do some grocery shopping.

But KYLE won and that's all that matters. I guess M&N did pick the right weeks to go on vacation. :rotfl:

D&D, that was some pretty good picking you did there for not having any "good vibes" this week.

I can't believe the boards are still so slow. It took me forever just to get here. It's really starting to drive me crazy.

So we're back up and running.

Marie - Ron Jon's sells beach clothes, t-shirts, swimsuits, and surfing gear. Fun place to poke around. Flametree had pretty good food but it had great tables spread out around a lake, nice place to sit and take a break...lots of birds trying to beg for food. :goodvibes My DD loved the kidcot stuff but then she loves to colour/draw.

The kids have been off all week for their March Break thank goodness everything gets back to normal starting tomorrow. I bought my Twilight DVD yesterday so I'm looking forward to watching that once the kids go to bed.

Gotta go DD needs me to dry her hair...TTYL

Good Monday morning everyone! I didn't realize that the boards would be down yesterday. Been having problems with computer, so spent most of the weekend trying to "fix" it. I don't know what I did to it to make it so mad. Its still not running great, but its bearable now.

No one watched the Amazing Race? I'm seriously crushing on Luke right now. Its that mischevious grin of his.

so, Racetrack, how'd the hairdye go? Sounds crazy at your house! Can't wait for pics.

Wendy, I've been wearing variations of the same outfit for years. I've found some cute stuff at Macy's, jcp, and NY& company. But shorts are either booty-short, or really baggy and I can't find something in between.

Pepper! How are you doing? I hope the cellulitis gets under control.

Pikester, on the top of the restaurant boards, there's a sticky about ADRs. There's an ADR calculator on there. It'll tell you exactly when you can make your ressies.

Marie, Cafe Tu Tu Tango is not the bellydancing place. Its more of a tapas joint, where they serve lots of little tasting place. There's artwork on the wall, sometimes some live music. The place is really interesting and you can try some cool stuff different from standard restaurant fare. Its consistently on lists of "places to go" in guidebooks. And try the alligator! Its good!

D&D...if your dates for Hershey are now July 26....I'll tell Bf! Its still far enough away for us to adjust our schedules, so its fine with me.

Got my Disney tix in the mail yesterday! This is it! We are all set...although I would like to get a better rate on a rental car...its the 8th day that's killing me.

My shift key is sticking and won't CAPITALIZE like I want it to. Any ideas to help a girl out?

Have good day everyone! Talk to you soon!

Kitty - Here's my solution to the computer problems
sAng_compy.gif

:woohoo: on the Disney tix arriving.
Good luck getting a better rate on the rental :car:

Racetrack - Still waiting on those pics.

and cold here today. May have to build a :boat: by week's end if we get all the rain they are calling for. Guess its better than snow.

Hello everybody. :)
Tried to get on yesterday but they were still working on the boards so I decided to wait til today. All I've noticed is the board is slower for me now. :confused3
Sukie Have you ever gone on a cruise? I have heard that Disney is very good but a bit expensive. As long as you like Disney you should have a great time.

OMG Pepper!!! Cellulitis is NOT something to play with. I know, I've had it! GO TO THE DOCTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope you are doing better today.

Welcome back Dis Board friends. Glad to see us up and running again.

Well POOP!!!! I leave for Scotland on the 25th, so that week won't work for me. Hmmmm, maybe we could do TWO?:rotfl:

This sticky note thing is sticking in my craw. I'll have to go look at it. I understand that things get out of hand, but if I can't express myself gently on my siggie, that's just ridiculous.

Having said that, if I suddenly disappear, you'll know why. But I'm still on Facebook...

Evening!!! Would have been here earlier today but the dis was running so sloooowwww for me. I'm talking minutes for a page to load. When they said they were upgrading the board, I thought things would get better not worse.

Magikitty, :woohoo::woohoo: on getting your tickets in the mail. All I have for my Universal tickets is a computer print out sheet. :guilty: It just doesn't say "park tickets" to me.

D&D, forgot to tell you.....I can make it any weekend that you can. I'll just DH what weekend to take off when you definite. :thumbsup2

whgrn, I'd hate to see you leave but I would totally understand it. You could always check in here http://tkersuncensored.*********/ There are no siggie rules there. :goodvibes

In fact, y'all are welcome there.

Good morning friends. Its looking to be a clear day, but the temps are still in the upper 30s. I should just be gratefu there isn't any snow or rain in my forecast. Its really been a strange weather season thus far.

The boards have been running slowly for me too, but I thought that was just due to the numerous computer issues I've been having. I'm saddened by the new sticky, and I completely understand where Wendy is coming from. Politics and religion are not subjects that any amount of yelling and so-called "debating" will change for most people. I too have witnessed some pretty nasty name-calling and degradation and have also seen some of the siggies that have gotten wrongful attention. I do think its a personal choice and everyone should be permitted to express themselves as they please, however objectionable. There is always the 'ignore' button. I just have to think about it.

Got some bad news from one of my best girlfriends. They were lucky enough to get pregnant after their first round of IVF but the baby has some health issues. I prayed so hard for them last night.

Racetrack, I know what you mean about the Universal ticket printout. It is kinda disappointing. I'm getting into Orando the day before my family arrives, so I'm going to use that next morning to visit US on my own. I'm excited to ride the Simpsons, and I love the Shrek ride.

Such a dumpy morning. I need coffee and maybe a little goofiness to pick me up. Have a good day everyone!

Kitty - I'll keep your friend in my prayers. What they must be going through. :sad1: I've never done IVF but we too went through years of infertility and medical help before I finally got pregnant with DS6.

Whgrn- I forgot and thought you were going to be gone the week before July 19th. Let me look at our schedule. Maybe that week of July 12th. Or, how does eveyone's schedule look for June?

Racetrack - Still waiting on those pics.

DL55 - I agree with you. The boards are terribly slow. :snail: How's the weather out there?

Magikitty, I ordered my tickets on line from Universal site so all I have is my receipt. I have to pick up my tickets at one of those self-service machines. I loved when I ordered from Undercover Tourist and got actual tickets in the mail. Now I have to wait until I get there.

It's still really cold here. Thankfully, the wind has calmed down so maybe it will warm up a little bit today.

D&D, I'm working on getting DH to let me take his pic. I'll get it. We don't get back from vacation until June 14th. Any weekend after that is good for me.

3.gif

Well just catch DH off guard - like you did last time. ;)
Do ya need permission to snap one of yourself too? :lmao:

Good morning all!

Tut-tut it looks like it might rain here this morning. It was supposed to storm last night but it must have stalled along the way because it's still overcast and not a drop of rain so far.

As soon as I get a few more things done online this morning my goal for the day is to finish gathering my tax information. Has everyone else done there taxes yet? April 15th is right around the corner! Boy, how time flies!

This morning I made a couple of rental car reservations. I went with Dollar since they were cheaper and in terminal. They have good reviews in the Unofficial Guide. Has anyone ever used them? Anyway, I went ahead and booked a minivan and a Jeep. I doubt DH will want to be seen in a minivan but it would save another $80 so we will see how the finances hold out between now and then. I figured I better grab something now while I found a good deal because those rental car rates are CRAZY! It has been like looking at a roller coaster!

racetrack18kb, yes, I was talking about the stations where they color and etc. I can't believe the "official" WDW site lists it as for preschool. Oh well, we are gonna try it anyway because my DD will enjoy it.

BKMETV, I did go check out Ron Jon's website. We might have to drop in and check it out! Flametree sounds like a nice place to eat and take a break. Yeah, another thumbs up for the kidcot stations!

MagiKitty, okay... no belly dancers, huh? Guess the boys will be disappointed now! Well I know I have heard of Cafe Tu Tu Tango anyway so we may just have to check it out.
Whoo-hoo on getting your Disney tickets! You might try Dollar for a cheaper rate on your car rental. Try the Orlando Visitor Bureau code OCVBE. It gave me the best rate I could find.
How terrible for your girlfriend. I hope they are able to fine a way to help the baby's health issues.

Hi :wave2: D&DDisney, DL55, whgrn and anyone else!

It seems after every upgrade the DIS is slow for a while. I'll try to be patient.
MagiKitty I'll be thinking of your friend.
Weather here is the usual...sunny. We did have some clouds this weekend.

It is a shame we can't have civil discussions about politics. Like usual a few spoil it for the rest. :sad2: Of course I never participate in those discussions anyway. If I want to be upset I watch the news.

Got some bad news from one of my best girlfriends. They were lucky enough to get pregnant after their first round of IVF but the baby has some health issues. I prayed so hard for them last night.

Praying for your friends MK. Do they know what kind of health issues the baby has?

Whgrn- I forgot and thought you were going to be gone the week before July 19th. Let me look at our schedule. Maybe that week of July 12th. Or, how does eveyone's schedule look for June?

I take my kids to camp on the 12th. Any other weekend date should be fine between June 15 and July 25. I really hope we can make this work!

thank you everyone for your additional prayers for the little guy. He has several issues and isn't due until July, but the doctors are hopeful that with surgery, they'll be able to repair him right up. He has two vessels in his umbilical cord, when he should have three. He has a heart condition called tetrology of Fallot and they're waiting on news of a chromosomal disorder called DiGeorge syndrome which has cardiac anomalies, cleft palate, and immunolgic issues.

thank you Marie for the tip on Dollar. I'm renting there also. I also got a coupon code from orlandocoupons.com for Dollar. The code is oi1066. For me, it gives a similar rate for Mousesavers oi1054, but its worth trying also. I printed up the coupon for an additional 10% off the already discounted rate from that site and hopefully I'll be able to add it to my rate.

I have a slightly cheaper rate with Thrifty, but its offsite and since I'm not arriving into Orlando until after 10p, I'd much rather rent from the airport. I'll just keep looking. I'm hoping for a super cheap last minute rate, but otherwise, I already have a decent rate reserved.

I get into enough political rhetoric with BF. I was so happy we survived the elections last year.

I admit it, I've turned to Cadbury mini-eggs for a bit of a pick me up. I think its working!
