Weather is gorgeous here.... yesterday temps were 50. Today 40s and rain (I'll still take it) Tomorrow and up until Thurs. temps in the 50s. :banana:

I am so ready for spring. Getting :hyper:

for planting season. Kids took out their bikes yesterday and played outside for hours.

Just kidding...I couldn't wait until April Fools Day to say that! You won't get rid of me that easily! Racetrack needs me so she'll have someone to pick on! I have a few choice words I can say about her driver's attitude but I'll wait til later. Must get things done here first.

But the wreck wasn't his fault. He was doing good. Just got shuffled back at the wrong time. Of course, there were so many wrecks, any time could have been bad. I was having a hard time keeping track of who is in what car and what number and what sponsor and who that guy is anyway??? Lot's of new, single car teams trying to get in too that I didn't really know. I hope Labonte does good. I like Bodine too.
I really thought Kyle acted like a jerk when they had the drawing for the Bud shootout. He just acted immature to me. I did think it was funny that Joey could not get his own bottle and open it because he isn't old enough to drink.
Did you enjoy the coverage? I watched a lot of it Sat afternoon. I do think they were trying to get the fans out to see the races.

I got here kinda late for some of the car discussion but I'm gonna throw in my car history.

Oooooh! DL55, I bet you were ubber cool in your Trans Am! I think every other person I knew drove one. They did look good!

I started out with the Pinto. Later when I got married we bought a Jeep Scrambler when they very first came out. I really LOVED it but, alas, we had to get rid of it because we could not afford the insurance after the X-H got his 2nd DWI! Later we got another new car but it was a crappy little Chevette. Someone ran into it about a week after we got it. We split up and he got to keep the wreck.

After that was I got a VW Beetle too, Bopsmom. I absolutely loved driving it! It was so fun! Well, except in very hot weather. Not too much later, I let a stupid guy I was dating drive it and he rolled it. :sad1:

(And then... can you believe it... I still married the idiot. Doesn't say much for me, now does it? You would have thought I'd have kicked him to the curb! I would have saved myself a lot of grief if I had but I'm not even sure I knew how to use my brain back then! I sure made a LOT of stupid decisions. Thank God I HAVE gotten better!) Anyway, we bought a new Ford Ranger pickup which I tried to keep when we split up but the finance company acted like horses' patooties and wouldn't let me change it into my name. That X-H had a fit because it was still in his name so I gave it back to him and told him he could have it and the payments. It wasn't worth it for me to keep it if I had to keep hearing back from him. Funny thing... after he missed several payments the finance company contacted me again and said if I would help them find the car they would get it changed over to my name. I told them what they could do with it! I certainly didn't want the darn thing after he had trashed it. Turned out that he ended up totaling it. After that I lost any interest in having a new car. I drove several junkers and was perfectly happy as long as they got me there!

Now I don't do much driving anyway. DH is the family chauffeur. We don't have the standard mini-van.... just the next biggest thing, a Suburban. This is our 3rd. I will say this, after you get used to one it is hard to ever drive anything smaller. You can haul almost ANYTHING in one!

I hope those of you who have been sick are feeling better. DH took DS to the doctor this morning because he has had that hanging on cough for about 4 weeks. The doctor called it bronchitis and sent him home with a prescription. DD has had a sore throat for the last couple of days. And we all have had a slight touch of tummy bug. So far none of us have gotten totally down in the bed. Guess those GERMS are everywhere!

That sure was funny about Lagano. I liked the coverage this year. I just didn't like how the set up the race. Sorry, but neither Lagano nor Scott Speed belonged in there.

Which Labonte do you want to do good, Terry or Bobby? Bobby's always been a favorite here. DD even has one of his team Jackets from when he drove for Interstate Batteries.

Marie---Like the way you can tell your car history by your ex's. Sounds like you got a keeper in the Suburban. He is large enough to haul anything! :lmao:

Racer: Your DH is nothing like KB! Please don't compare. There was some 70 some year old trying out! Now come on. Mark Martin was soooo happy to have this chance. He said that last year at DEI. The guy who merged with DEI was saying how great Theresa was and how involved she was but didn't want to go to the races but he was there for them--yeah, right. All she wants is the name and the money she gets from it. Tony said he was there as the driver. It was neat that Ryan qualified ahead of him. I think Tony and Mikey W are in the 2nd race with Jr. They draft good together. Did you make a list of the cars and drivers to keep up? I looked for a NASCAR book today but didn't see one. I guess I can get a list at Jayski. I remember Tony is 14 and Mark is 5. Mikey's 2nd car is Reudemann (? a truck driver) and number 00-I think. It's by Aarons anyway. And let's not forget the commercials---the construction worker AFLAC one... :lmao:

No, Tony and Jr aren't in the same duel race. I had to check to make my picks. I had hoped they would be because they do draft so well together. Hopefully they will start close to one another for the big race.

I always forget what car Bobby Labonte is driving. I had finally gotten use to him driving for Petty and now he's switched teams again. I didn't get to make a cheat sheet yet. I will though...I can't keep track of who's who.

You've only met DH once....you have no clue how he can really be. :rotfl2:
