Four Days in May: Is Space 220 Even Possible?

Tomorrow is my ADR booking day and unlike a lot of the experiences I track on here, we are only doing four days in WDW (plus three at UNI). So May 17-20, party of 4.

I’m wondering if I should even bother trying for Space 220 (lunch, dinner, restaurant or lounge) given how scarce reservations are. Seems like people only get them 6-10 days out. And I’d rather not lose precious time trying to get ADRs for my other days. My original plan was trying for it lunch the first day but I’d vie for Day 4 if I knew my chances were realistic.

Day 1: Space 220 Lunch
Day 2: Tiffins Dinner
Day 3: Teppan Edo Dinner
Day 4: Be Our Guest Dinner

I have Hollywood Brown Derby and La Hacienda as dinner back-ups too. And I’d flex Tiffins or Be Our Guest to lunch if need be. (I’ve noticed that I sometimes see BOG has lunch availability in my random checks the last few weeks.)

Again, I’d rather not go on a fool’s quest for Space 220 and then also not get 1-2 other choices but perhaps I’m overestimating scarcity for the other dining options. (Also, I am willing to keep checking over the next two months and days leading up to the trip, if efforts fail tomorrow.)

Both Space 220 and BOG will be tough to get.

Honestly, unless you're really wanting the experience of BOG and haven't been before, I wouldn't bother. The atmosphere is lots better than the food and service. It was good for a few years after it first opened and has really gone downhill once they figured out they could serve mediocre food and still fill every table repeatedly.

I'd zip to the 20th and try then before doing anything else. People booking ADRs for the week tend to start Sunday-Monday, etc. As a result, you can sometimes get a coveted ADR by starting at week's end and working backward.

Some have said they showed up at Space 220 and got lounge seating.

Good luck!

I have the 17th and 18th already open and there are no Space 220 (lounge or restaurant) reservations open at any time. In a Disney reservations Facebook group someone today opened up their 60 +10 reservation window and Space didn't have any openings until the 21st. It's the new BOG and CRT. But people do drop periodically and there's lots of people reservation hoarding that time period right now so don't give up and keep checking!

thanks! We did BOG lunch counter service back in the day and I have considered avoiding it for the reasons you state. The atmosphere and lack of many options at MK are partially why I’m trying for it. But not getting it won’t bother me as much as the disappointment I already have about Space 220.

Just a heads-up that might help ppl--- during our recent stay (2/23-3/2) , between 11:50PM- Midnight, almost every night of our stay, Space 220 popped up --- (ppl cancelling late to avoid penalty)--- BoG would pop up, B & C, Sci-Fi, Ohana--- almost every night--- we were able to get Space 220 at 5:05 last day before we were leaving

I am hunting down a Space 220 reservation with you for the same period, but then 2 people :p I am just going to check randomly availability. Who knows, believe in Disney magic and pixiedust :)

What about Liberty Tree Tavern instead? Pretty good basic American comfort food in a cozy atmosphere. It's nothing fabulous for atmosphere but gets you refueled tastily.

Personally, I'd duck out of MK and go over to either the CR or GF. Plenty of restaurants much better than BOG.

GF Cafe is really good. Has some quirky twists like the lobster thermidor burger. Citricos is excellent for more upscale food in a relaxed atmosphere. Can hardly beat the CR's Cali Grill for stunning food and marvelous service--except for Victoria & Albert's, of course. ;)

My reservation window is open till May 21st right now and Space is booked solid through the 21st.

This is a GREAT tip.

I tried for Space 220 during my 60+5 for our stay in mid-May and no luck. How did it go for you? Did you get what you wanted?

If you have your heart set on Space 220, you could try to get a walk-up lounge reservation. They have a small plates menu but you can order the prix fixe there too. That would let you get in to enjoy the experience.

FWIW it's Monday and I just snagged a Space 220 reservation for this upcoming *Friday*, which was a pretty sweet get. You can't rely on that that necessarily, but people do make reservations that might be a stretch or not ideal timing etc. that they cancel the week-of, and then those turn over to other people to grab. Just putting it out there that it's possible.
