GREAT NEWS! They were found late today! Alive and well. I havent gotten the full details yet, but I can say her mom was SO HAPPY when she called me with the good news! It was good to hear life back in her voice.

I just found this thread and was so worried for those girls! Have they found out where they were all this time? I have just imagined all kinds of crazy things that could have happened to them!!! Especially since the girl who was missing for 18 years was found and we now know what happened to her.

What in the world were they thinking, running away like that? I know they're just kids but surely they must have some concept of the anxiety and heartache they put their parents through. I think if I was one of their parents, after I'd hugged and kissed them for hours in my joy to see them safe, I'd probably feel like throttling them then!

The amount of secrecy surrounding their return is strange. But I suppose they are gathering evidence in an attempt to charge someone with something. I hope we get the whole story soon.

I agree 100%!! It does seem odd that they aren't saying anything. Maybe their parents are embarrassed that they had this big stir and then the kids had done this?

I hate to go here but this kind of thing (IF it turns out to be a runaway) hurts every legitimate kidnapping out there.
I was just explaining to my DD's and their friend that the Amber Alert is such a great thing but the time they have to spend ruling out the legitimate kidnapping from the non-kidnapping is vital for every case where someone really was kidnapped.
That being said- I am very happy your case was resolved for the better.

Was it close enough that they could have been staying with friends? Or is it many miles away?

I don't remember in what part of San Bernardino they were found. But SB is about 50 miles from Murrieta, where one of the girls lives.

I did say that... and I think I was dead wrong.
They are not talking, but I'm pretty sure thats exactly what happened.

I'm glad they are safe. But Im not happy or impressed by that behavior. At least pick up the blasted phone and let people know you are not upside down in the bushes someplace.
