Last December we were signed up for the Fort Wilderness Segway tour. The morning of our tour there was a tornado watch! I called to ask if our tour had been cancelled and was told it was still on and that we would receive a 50% refund if we couldn't complete the full tour. I asked if I could reschedule for a different day but they won't reschedule, they can only cancel and rebook and you must cancel at least 48 hours in advance or you lose your money.
We headed over to Fort Wilderness. They did a short training session in the BBQ pavilion and then issued everyone a poncho and took us out in the rain for about 5-10 minutes so we could experience the off-road Segways on something other than concrete. It was really pouring at that point so we couldn't stay out very long and got thoroughly soaked from the knees down, but we still had fun!
The entire session lasted about 45 minutes. To my surprise, we actually received a full refund. We signed up for another Segway tour (that took place last week) and this time, just before the 48-hour mark, I checked the weather forecast so that I could cancel and rebook if necessary.
