I was there a few weeks ago and only used my key for a few rides (didn't need it for some rides), and they did scan it a couple of times, at Spiderman and I believe at Jimmy Neutron.

And yes, even when the park is packed it was at most a 10 minute wait. But it really wasn't even a wait, because we were basically kept moving forward by the CM even while the regular line was at a standstill.

Wow, you're really going to enjoy FOTL!!

As for firework, I only know they had it on July 4th when we were there, but I don't know about other times.
My family and I will be there again this July 4th!

I am excited. I can't help it. I am beginning to make the kids nuts as well. I hope you have a great time. It has been a very long time for us. My eldest teenage DD can't believe that those in the express line will go on before those in the regular line. She thinks it isn't fair to those waiting and waiting and waiting, that the ratio of express and non express should be more equal. I told her NOT. I am looking foward to being a VIP.

My memory of FOTL access is actually the first time my wife & I used it, we had just checked in to HRH and decided to run into USF and hit MIB. My wife didn't believe me that we had to follow the little arrows and go around the back, but finally she caved in. Once we got to where the attendant stops you, he asked to see our room keys and said "please tell all these people standing in this long line how you are enjoying your stay onsite!" we told them all it was great, and he motioned for us to continue on while people shot us looks like "who do THEY think they are!!!" After that first encounter with FOTL we were hooked! We are going back in October with 2 other couples, and of course we are all staying onsite! We cannot wait.

What do you mean you went around to the back.... I thought you just go in the front in the express lan.. we will be there in 1 week.. I do not want to get in the wrong lane.. we are staying at PBH.. I can't wait to use that room key. thnaks..amy

When the perk of FOTL first started, people entered through the exits. Now there are clearly marked "EXPRESS ENTRANCE" signs for you. If you can't find it, just ask the ride attendant.

Yep. Onsite room key = all day express. You go through the express line and then you're ready.
