We are going in August and staying on-site (Royal Pacific). We LOVE the Front-of-the-Line access, but will we miss all the great scenes from Hogwarts, like Dumbledore's office, Defence Against the Dark Arts room, etc?

it might not be open yet in august but you do get to see dumbledore, the gang in the dada and etc

Really?

That's hard to believe, since it sounds like people are riding it now, and Grand Opening is June 18.

Are you saying that they will not have FOTL up by August?

Anyway, I was asking if I would miss all those rooms if we did the Front-Of-The-Line bypass. Does anyone know?

yes sorry if my answer was confusing

i ment they may not open the fotl (express) right away, but if it is open, you wont miss those rooms

I believe the PP is saying that the FOTL might not be up by August.

There's no FOTL right now, so no one can really say how it might work whenever it does start. From what I've been reading, the queue moves fairly steadily (except when the ride breaks down), because it's a continuously loading ride.

the line is there just not being used.

Inside the dungeon to the right there are 2 sets of stairs

the express people will climb one and enter to the left of dumbledore's office and infront of the regular queue

the single riders take a stair case that brings them up on the right side of the gryffindor common room

so as you approach the room of requirment there are 3 lines, left is express, center is regular, right is singles

Rip Ride Rockit has been open for almost a year, and the express line is still not open. So I wouldn't assume it will be open for FJ.

But, out of all the queues I've seen, that is the one I would want to spend hours waiting in! :thumbsup2

FOTL will be open for FJ fairly soon after opening. HRRR has nothing to do with what will happen on this ride. I think that concern is unfounded. FJ won't have problems running at capacity. Breakdowns? Sure. But it will run at capacity while its running.

On site hotel guests also get in one hour before the general public. I would recommend you get up early the first morning and go during that hour so you can walk through the entire queue before your first ride.

This.

HRRR was an epic fail from day one. Not that I don't enjoy the ride (row 6, please), but I doubt it will ever run at capacity for any length of time, not to mention the valleying. FJ has just started running and is having some issues, but nothing even close to the poor Rockit. The line moves very steadily when it's in the zone so I can't see anything keeping Uni from opening Express sooner rather than later. And when they do, me and my Premier Pass will be there!

Thanks for that GREAT info, MrBryan!! :worship:

Good idea, Lou. We will definitely do that! :thumbsup2

What is HRRR, and what is "valleying"?

HRRR = Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit and valleying is when the coaster doesn't have enough speed to make it up the hill so it rolls back into the "valley" and rests there. This is after the launch/lift hill of course.

Oh, thanks Metro.

It, and the Simpsons ride was not around the last time we went to Universal.

Where is it located?

The Simpsons ride replaced Back to the Future ride. It's located next to Animal Actors in the studios.

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is at the front next to the Jimmy Neutron.
