Fort Wildness Lodge DVC Expansion

It's fairly certain the average person will be able to figure out the various Lodge options, regardless of what names they use. For those who can't, the CMs will be more than happy to help. The old VWL will not have cabins, only the new VWL, so I suspect the name will include the word cabin for further illumination.

Not to mention when I check in I go to the front desk they tell me where my room is and I go. Call it what you want, just as long as I know where the pool is and the pool bar is I'm good. :drinking:

There has been talk inside Disney due to Disney Springs and Sarasota Springs confusion for guests. People have been getting on buses planning to go to Disney Springs and ending up at SSR.

I expect that the name for the new Wilderness Villas and Cabins will be different from VWL and guests will eventually get it.

I am assuming the VWL I and VWL II will be treated as separate entities, however as an owner I am watching closely. I would love to have access to the rooms at the lodge at 11 months but I doubt that would happen. A good price on an extension would be good too.

It will be very confusing.

There is already "Fort Wilderness" "Wilderness Lodge" and "Villas Wilderness" now they are going to come up something like "Cabin Wilderness" or "Wilderness Bungalow" all keeping the same theme... people may think it's the same thing. I used to think Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge are the same place, just one has a camp and the other has hotel... but they are practically independent, with their own bus stops / routes, etc.

If they do not allow the new owner from VWL2 to book VWL1 at 11 months, then it might affect their sale. Potential buyers may think, I am paying full price and you allow me to book half a resort? If they allow the VWL1 and VWL2 merging by offering an upgrade, then VWL1 resale price will go from current $90 to $150 overnight. But how can they force everyone to upgrade?

I think the owners of VWL1 are watching very carefully. I think there may be a class action lawsuit if DVC takes away VWL1 land or facilities to make VWL2 without any compensation to VWL1 owners.

I do agree, you would think they would try more original names.

The press announcement for VWL2 made it pretty clear that it would be a separate resort. As such, I agree that there is little chance that current VWL owners will have any booking privileges prior to the 7 month window. From Disney's point of view, they are hoping that there are many people such as yourself that would "love to have access to the rooms at the lodge at 11 months". That would require new point sales which makes Disney very happy! :)

I think extensions at the current VWL will be handled completely separate from anything concerning VWL2. Of course, that's pure guesswork. :)

I hope they do something to allow a sleeper chair/pull down bed or something in a one bedroom. I want to see a 1 Bedroom that sleeps 6.
