When DW was little, she stayed at FW with her family. She's been thinking about going back there to visit (not stay) and refresh her memory. I promised her I'd post the question: Is there anything to see/do at FW? We know its not a destination, like the parks. Some resorts are so beautiful and well-themed.
We thank you in advance!
:thumbsup2

There is a ton to do at FW. You might want to check out the camping forum.

Activities:

1. Nightly campfire singalong with Chip & Dale followed by a Disney Movie.
2. Hoop De Doo Revue
3. I think there is a petting zoo - although I'm not positive
4. Horse drawn carriage rides
5. Bike Trails
6. The TS restaurant there is supposed to be one of the best

etc., etc., etc.

Have fun! I too camped there as a child. Although we don't camp now, I can't wait to visit this time. Depending on her age, there may be many of the same activities. I'm 30 and when I was a child, I remember the Hoop De Doo Revue and the campfire.

There is so much to see/do at FW, that you could easily spend a week there, and never go to the parks!!

Check out Disney Campers site to see everything that's available!

We stayed at Wilderness Lodge in December and spent two or three afternoons at FW. We saw the stables, went into the petting zoo, walked some of the trails, played on the playground and did the HDD. We enjoyed it so much the kids are wanting to camp the next time we go to WDW!

:wave2: Hello. Do y'all know the hours of the petting zoo? We will be dropping by for HDD one evening and thought we might go early to see the animals. Is it close by to Pioneer Hall? Any info would be appreciated!!!! Thanks in advance!

Its just a bit south of Pioneer Hall. Its not a petting zoo exactly but there are some goats and a pony ride thing. THere is also some horse stables where you can see horses. It probably opens around 10 AM and closes at like 8 or 7 PM. If you go in the middle of the day you should be fine.

Cool. Sounds great. We live in the suburbs with no zoo or anything nearby, so a couple of goats is fine. We will plan to stop in on our way to Hoop Dee Doo. Thanks for the info.

You can go for horse rides. You can rent little boats (I forget what they call them). I believe they have basketball & tennis ball courts. You can take the boat ride to & from the MK just for something to do. They have playgrounds. Nature trails. Volley ball. Fishing. Looking for Gators.
