Hi there,

I'm going to be in WDW the weekend before Halloween. I've heard great things about the fan-made Halloween campsites at Fort Wilderness, and wanted to check them out. Does anyone know how late at night they are "open?" I wanted to come by late, but don't want all the lights and effects to be turned off, etc.

Also does anyone know when the Halloween golf cart parade is?

Thanks!

It's no different than your local neighborhood - the campers turn off their light and effects when they turn in for the night. If you come by late most lights and effects will be turned off.

It typically starts 5PM Oct 31.

Well worth make the trip to the Fort to see. People get very creative.

They no longer allow visitors on Halloween, only families that are staying at FW. You can visit other days but no longer on Halloween, it was getting ridiculously crowded.

Thank you! So would you say most lights and effects would still be on around 10:00pm? Or do you think most people turn in earlier?

How can they enforce this? I can see the CMs turning people away if they try to drive in to park, but will they really stop people who take a Disney bus or boat over?

So difficult to say. But I agree with Hopefully; most families turn in before 10PM.

No clue, I just know that last year they decided to no longer allow guests there on Halloween. But like you said I doubt they can really prevent people coming via WDW transportation. I totally understand why they did this because the campers are giving out their own treats meant for other campers and they have been running out very early because so many non-FW guests were going there.

Most likely still on, but pushing it...

No, they can’t stop bus or boat guests. The Fort enforces vehicle parking/traffic for non-FW guests and ask that they either park at their own resort or the TTC.

It gets unbelievably crowded with cars along the sides of the roads, on grassy areas...anywhere they can squeeze in, they will.

Are Halloween decorations out as late as the 1st or 2nd November? We would love to see them but don’t arrive until late on the 31st!
