Fort Wilderness Campground Christmas 2010

We just bought a Roadtrek and will be at Fort Wilderness December 12 - 17! Been saving our Disney Rewards Dollars for a golf cart. Can't wait to see all the decorations. Trying to do all The Fort things.

We finaly got ressies for Dec 21-26, premium site. Cant wait. Last year, we drove from Tampa on x-mas eve just to see Castle Guys set up. It was worth the drive, as was all of the other set ups. This year we will throw our hat into the ring and see if we can compete with the vets.

We drove over from Tampa 1 night also to see your castle, it was great. Sorry we didn't get to meet you, but I'm sure we will come over again this year, since you leave before we check in for New Years

Char, congrats on your new Roadtrek.... those are the class B sweet things, aren't they?? We have a dear friend with one, and he ADORES it!! We still need one more day on our Dec reservation.... soon as Disney reservations comes back up, I'll start working on that day.... it'll be great to meet you!!

Hmmm, tempting idea. I could do an illuminations type light show.....the only problem with that is, I have zero skills when it comes to construction. That could put a little hamper on the project.

It would be cool to get 4 sites next to each other and have each one decorated as one of the parks and have a monorail set up to race between them. Even paint it in the nice Tron scheme. (Just an observation: anyone else notice they decorated the monorail for Halloween?)

Im still working on my decorations and hope to make it a worthwhile stop for some.....

Monorail Black and Orange have been stripped of the "Celebrate Today" balloon graphics, and in their place are a couple of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party graphics. They are a lot fewer in number than the balloons, and as you can see from the photos below of Monorail Black, it looks so much better without all the clutter in the windows.

They are a lot fewer in number than the balloons, and as you can see from the photos below of Monorail Black, it looks so much better without all the clutter in the windows.

WOW....I'm so excited. After reservations opened back up I was able to get ressies for Hoop Dee Doo and Backyard Barbeque! Haven't been to either for several years. Can't wait. Now trying to decide what to do the remaining nights. Definitely Hollywood Studios Lights! That is a yearly tradition! Not sure about the Very Merry Christmas Party.

I haven't back during the holidays to camp at Fort Wilderness in a year and I almost didn't make it in again this year, except I finally got a cancellation for 11/24 & 11/25. I am little disppointed that it's not my favorite Preferred area, but I plan on Christmas decorating anyway even if I am way back in the 1900 loop or whatever. ugh.

I look forward to seeing everyone's new ideas on decorating and "gleeming" some for my own next year if I get to come again.

After reading thru all of this I am soooooo very excited 6 of us are staying at the cabins for xmas. I was thinking I'd have to smuggle in a small fake tree for the kids xmas day..........but you guys will have the whole place decked out!!!!!! I'm even trying to figure out where I can stash extension cords in the van so we have lights outside!!!!! How fun is this going to be!!!!!!!
we have never stayed at the cabins......and I'm so looking forward to going now I can't wait..

Thought you might find this amusing. I just showed my son the video and while he was watching it he said " Bow to the glory of the castle" and also multiple WOWS! Can you tell he thought it was fantastic!!! He is looking forward to seeing it in person!

Hey stampin fool, hopefully I will be in the 700 loop. The only thing I require is a tree on the left side of my coach (for hanging the snowflakes). But who knows where I will end up.
I'm really glad your son enjoyed my castle show. I look forward to meeting you and your son in person at the Fort. I'll give him a behind the scenes tour of how everything works, if that's is ok with you ?? He might get a kick out of that.

Hey shellyfive, so excited for you guys. I'm sure you will be able to smuggle a small Christmas tree in your cabin. If you need an extra extension cord, I'm sure I have a couple (I bring 200+ with me) I could loan you. I can see you are really excited!!! You guys are going to have a BLAST!!!!

Hey Dave, Seen your Castle Video. Its pretty amazing. Look forward to seeing it in person. We are booked for 19-28 Dec. Also Hoop-De-Doo and Mickeys back yard BBQ. We were there for Christmas in 08 at the Wilderness Lodge and just loved it. Bought a class c motor home this year and thought we would try out the Fort. I reserved a GC and I guess I'll just drive around till we find you.

Me, DW and 2 boys 7 and 9 and the dog of course. Anything else you suggest I bring? We are coming down from Ontario. I'll leave the snow at home. lol
