Hey! Totally new to the cabins. For those who have experience with them, do you have any requests for location or loop when you stay? Things to know about with locations to avoid,... etc. Thank you!

I stayed in the cabins a month ago. I did not make any requests, other than I would like a cabin early if possible (we had two cars and were going to MVMCP that night, so I wanted to get in, unloaded, and moved before the other vehicle arrived). We ended up in a cabin in the 2400 loop. I have also stayed in the 2200 and 2500 loops. All of them were nice and felt convenient.

There really isn’t a horrible cabin loop. There are bus stops located every couple of loops, and the quiet pool/laundry is positioned near the center. The 2700 and 2800 loops are a little larger than the others, but not in a way that would discourage me from staying there. They are also farthest from the construction noise at the Settlement and therefore a little quieter during the day. 2200 is a shorter walk to the main pool and Meadow Trading Post, where they have most of the recreational facilities.

You might want to post on the camping board as well if you haven’t already, for additional feedback.

I agree with PP that there really isn’t a bad loop and I’d be fine not even making a request. That said, I am partial to the smaller loops - 2300 and 2500, super quick in and out and close to the laundry. But if I didn’t get that request I wouldn’t really care.

Enjoy the cabins and Ft Wilderness!

Great to hear, I’d rather just go in and see what we get. But can’t hurt to be prepared! Excited to decorate our golf cart and hopefully enjoy some end of holiday atmosphere between xmas and NYE!

We've stayed the last 2 years during thanksgiving, which is a wonderful time of the year to stay.. Everything is so well themed & decorated, it's awesome. So both times the only request that we asked for was close to bus stop... what we got last year was in the 2800 loop. 3rd cabin in off the main road on the right. This past trip, same thing close to bus stop, and we got our room at around 1:30. and it was 2532. Literally the very 1st cabin on the right when you turn in off the main road. And yes, walking distance to the pool/Laundry. We did have a 6 seater golf cart so no big deal, but both were ideal locations. TBH I don't actually think theres a bad area to be in , especially if you have a golf cart.

We’ve done the last two Thanksgivings as well. Agree both have been wonderful Ft Wilderness stays. The setups some people do for Thanksgiving, even around the cabins, are quite impressive!

Right....It screams Family....I Love it. Just driving around either the cabins or the RV sections...And peoples setups are from minor to crazy elaborate. And the people are so friendly. we stop n talk to different people & sometimes get invited for a bite n drink. It's a warming experience for sure..

This is what a campground (generally) is. Thanks, @DizDaD7

Campers (and by extension I will add 'cabin' campers at FW ) are outside at their resort enjoying life many times of the day.

If you're in a WDW resort hotel, how many times do you get to chat with your neighbors next door or down the hall? (It can be a LONG way down the hall at some of those antiseptic hotels).

But I will stop pointing out the 'painfully obvious' . Meeting neighbors at a WDW resort (like at FW) is a new phenomenon for some time share guests (at the DVC cabins but I know some folks are paying hotel rates). Honestly, though, the same principal applies. But newbies deserve the slack I will cut them. Because I will bet they are 'good folks'. They deserve the benefit of the doubt.

It's safe to say, campers are nice folks - like most folks are. But there are always exceptions out there.

Always wanted to pull the trigger, years ago but never was able to do so. We didn't think we'd have the time to utilize a C class, because weekends were either me working or kids with their activities, whether sports, clubs etc.

In the absense of not getting an RV we did indeed purchase a DVC contract for SSR . We've enjoyed staying at every DVC resort in WDW, HHI, & Cali but honestly the last 2 years at the cabins have been pretty wonderful. So much so that the talks have come up again about possibly purchasing a trailer or 5th wheel in the near future. So we shall see.
