Fort Wilderness bus question

I think I've read it both ways so I'm hoping somebody here can clear up a question I have.

The buses to Epcot, MGM and Animal Kingdom - do those buses pick up at the Outpost Depot or the Settlement Depot. (Hopefully I've got those names right!). I understand that we take an internal bus to one of those places and then get on the theme park bus, but from which Depot?

Thanks!

It is the outpost. Not sure on the name either but I know it is the post that is out by the over flow lot.

Yes it is called the Outpost which is also where you check in and can get the Downtown Disney bus too.The internal buses run between the Settlement and the Outpost. The Settlement has Trails End buffet, Hoop Dee Doo, and the boat dock where you get the boat to Magic Kingdom. Have a great trip, you are going to love it.

All bus traffic to the parks ( EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, DTD, and the water parks) from the Fort leaves from the Outpost. The bus stop is near the check-in area. One bus runs from the Settlement to the Wilderness Lodge, but that is part of the three route Internal bus system (yellow, orange, and purple).

Of course the only decent way to the MK is on a boat, either the small boat to the Contemporary or the larger launch directly to the MK dock. The bus stop at the Settlement is off to one side as you approach the area, and is a short walk to all the amenities in the Settlement area.

And just for clarificationn, it is not MGM any more. A few years ago it was re-named Hollywood Studios. Pretty much just a name change. You will receive a map in your checkin package that shows where the internal busses run.

did they change it again? the last time we were there ( a few years ago) the bus for MGM and (AKL?) were at a different stop than MK and EPCOT.. we would go out the back way, near Wilderness Lodge....

You are correct! It has definitely been a few years since those buses came through to the settlement.

We liked it better that way, but the "powers that be" of change, decided not to let external buses enter the CC anymore. To me, it just makes it more congested at the outpost, but-----------

Just give them a few years, maybe less, then they'll change it another way. We have been there basically since year 1 (of Disney) and there have been a whole bunch of changes over the years - some better, some not. :)

Actually, at the time it was the MGM (now HS) and the AK buses.

thanks. at least I know I am not going crazy. I remember this because we went all the way to to front, to be told we needed to go all the back...lol:crazy2:
