Try the Hilton Marina. It's very close to the cruise terminal and there is a shuttle, but it is not free.Hi
Cruising out of Fort Lauderdale next August and looking for recommendations on hotels near the port for the night before with shuttle service to the cruise terminal. Thanks in advance.
Embassy
Do you know if they have a shuttle that will return you to the hotel after the cruise has ended? I would prefer to take the shuttle from the hotel and not drive to the cruise terminal. We will be going on our first voyage on the Destiny this October. Thanks!Try the Hilton Marina. It's very close to the cruise terminal and there is a shuttle, but it is not free.
Can't help on that score. We drove over to the port so that we could just immediately leave at the end of the cruise rather than wait for a shuttle.Do you know if they have a shuttle that will return you to the hotel after the cruise has ended? Thanks, I'll check them out.The Omni Hotel is practically in the port. They have packages that include transportation to and from your ship.
We have stayed at several mentioned, but most recently the Embassy Suites and the Hyatt Place. You'll get a free buffet breakfast at the Embassy Suites.
I would second the suggestion on Uber. The shuttle to the port was 2-3x more expensive than an Uber. You're so close to the port that an Uber should be less than $10.
We stayed at Hyatt Place recently. It was very nice, and newly renovated. Everything was new and very clean. Free breakfast buffet. We only had coffee because there were two little kids touching all the food and the father didn't even try to stop them. What was your opinion on the Hyatt Place. We are a family of 13 and have booked Hyatt Place and also Springhill suites . Trying to decide . Thank you
No thanks I'll just have coffee. It's like any other Hyatt Place, if you've stayed in one before it will be almost identical. Since it was our first time sailing out of Port Everglades we thought it would be easier to just take the shuttle. Next time I will take a ride share.I can't answer about the shuttle, but there are a lot of taxis sitting right outside when you get off the ship.Do you know if they have a shuttle that will return you to the hotel after the cruise has ended? I haven't stayed at the SHS, but the Hyatt Place has a very small lobby. There was a small counter/bar that seats maybe 8 (if I remember right), and 3-4 tables that seat 4. It wasn't a big deal for us because we got in really late and had offsite plans for breakfast. With a big group though, you'll probably fill up the whole lobby. The location however is very convenient. You're walking distance to the grocery store (and wine store) if you forget to pack anything or are needing beach toys (sand buckets, rakes, etc.). We always walk over and pay $8 for a bag of the beach toys and then toss them at the end of the trip. Same for sunscreen - much better prices at the grocery store than a CVS/Walgreens. There are also some casual restaurants for dinner or breakfast that could handle a large group in walking distance too. That 17th Street corridor is pretty perfect for pre-cruise. Have fun! What was your opinion on the Hyatt Place. We are a family of 13 and have booked Hyatt Place and also Springhill suites . Trying to decide . Thank you
