There was a post a few pages back that she was doing well and was in little pain or something to that effect. Sounds like all went well.
My little one loves Mack the Knife -- but I'm partial to this one
such a sweet old fashioned love song...![]()
In case anyone missed it.About Honu, Tiggerfan1 said that she [Honu] had spoken to Soarin' the night of her surgery! And that she was in no pain!!!! I still can't believe it!
Yeah, I had a feeling that Memphis was sunk when, in the last second of the first half, Mizzou made a basket from the other side of the court. They were hot, we were not...
If anyone wants an update on Honu, I have it!!!! She called me about an hour ago!!!!!!!! That's right, she CALLED me!!! She's very alert and she said she's in zero pain! I couldn't believe it when my phone showed an incoming call from her! She spent quite a while in recovery but is in her room resting now. She said she'd call me again tomorrow if she's feeling up to it. But pain-free less than 24 hours post-op is a great sign, don't you ladies think?
The half court shot sure changed the momentum. There have been times, you could see the team as they left the hotel and knew they were going to lose. Sometimes, you can just sense it.
I honestly couldn't remember, so I googled it. Only article I could find quickly said he was myopically focused on his career, and it led to their breakup. Also said he got married a second time in the 70s, but it only lasted a few months before he divorced that wife.
Remember too he was the unfortunate soul who grew up thinking his mother was really his sister.I believe that happened to Jack Nicholson as well. I know babies born out of wedlock were looked down upon even more then than they are now, but wow... I can't imagine what that must've been like, to find that information out later in life. How awful.

Thanks, TLS, I had not seen the report on honu! That is just wonderful!
I mailed her a package a couple of days ago
I hope Houn gets it
OHHH and I LOVED Bobby
I cried everytime I heard UP In A Tree
Yup, I was a geek
I'm glad you did that! I did send her a message through that link to the hospital to expect a package - so hopefully she'll be looking for it/them.
Thanks, again, Debbie for sending our stuff to honu. I cannot wait to hear about her reaction to the McDreamy card. It was so funny, when I saw it! I knew it was on that rack for a purpose!![]()
Thank you, Tiggerfan! I am just so thankful her surgery went well. I know all of us were so worried, it was such a dangerous surgery.
well, my big question is....
how did she do in bingo???? [hope she was easy on 'em over there...]
I'm sure she left 'em all in the dust! Show 'em no mercy, Honu!!!![]()

That's our honu!
I looked at the gift baskets on the Disney Florists website, but didn't see anything she'd like. I don't know if they can custom make them or not. I know she wouldn't want flowers; she thinks they're a waste of $$$. Can't get a cake because we'll have one for my birthday.
I just have no clue what to do! Mu budget is limited, but I could do around $50-$100. Maybe a little more. If any of y'all have suggestions, I'd so appreciate that. She loved the Mickey Mouse Club as a child, loves Cinderella (first movie she ever saw), and loves the song "Once Upon A Dream." How I translate any of that into a surprise, beats me.
You're welcome! I was really concerned too, but somehow I knew deep down that everything was going to be OK. It was a miracle that she was even able to have the surgery this soon because her endocrinologist wasn't willing to approve the surgery for a while. Thank God that everything worked out!I'm still amazed that she was doing so well just a few hours after her surgery.
