Former Illinois Governor at SSR

My local ABC Chicago news station just reported that although former Illinois Governor could possibly be indicted today, her is currently on vacation staying at SSR Resort. They showed a picture that a viewer sent in of himself and the smiling ex-governor at SSR.

I wonder if someday, we will be able to book a room in the honorary Blagojevich Suite(and just how many more points would it cost for that priviledge).

Well the price depends on if you want to be 'Honorary Senator' of Walt Disney World. Make it worth it and you can have the room too.

Don't you think that the Blago thing has gone in a celebrity direction rather than a partisan political direction? That seems a bit heavy handed.

In that vein, NOW I see why Doorway to Dreams is located in Chicago.

I agreed it is newsworthy. Basically, reminding people to keep it on that topic and out of the political discussion arena.

I didn't find any DVC deeds listed under his name on the FL Comptroller site. Wonder if he purchased under an alias, is renting from someone (or perhaps a 'gift' for some favor?), or went through CRO...

I would think it is probably a CRO reservation, cleared through Disney VIP channels for security reasons. SSR likely has empty rooms surrounding his villa.

But isn't he now a private citizen? Would Disney do that? Problems aside, I wouldn't really consider him a VIP.

But they would still to provide some security for him simply because of his quasi-celebrity type status. Likely at his expense, much like when other celebrities vacation.

He has no security in Chicago anymore, at least none supplied by the government. He was stripped of all that when he was stripped of his position. He may have private security that he pays for himself, but part of why he is accused of trying to sell the Senate seat is because he was having financial issues. Because of that, frankly, I would be surprised if he would have extra rooms around him blocked off, unless Disney was just trying to be nice. His wife lost her job right before he lost his so they are both unemployed at this point.
