Former AP holders going through Disney withdrawals...a pre-trip report (with pics!)

Rental cars have decreased in price. That's one thing I am not booking in advance (for my LV trip in Oct.) The little suvs, in particular, are way cheaper. I'm paying about $130 to rent a convertible (includes tax) for 3 days. It sounds good, but I may wait around for something better to pop up.

Aren't the fees and taxes ridiculous?? They cost the same as a single day to rent!!:headache:

On orbitz for pickup on Wednesday and dropoff on Monday...the smallest car/cheapest car was $114 (including all fees.) So that's not too shabby.

I've always loved looking at the Disneyland pins while wandering through the shops. When I lived in Orange, I wouldn't let myself buy any because I knew if I started, I'd become addicted and want to do the pin trading and stuff. I knew it would become an expensive hobby.

But now that I live 1500 miles away, I think I can control myself...haha. I don't really have any desire to pin trade or anything. I just want to buy one of those lanyard things and then buy pins I like. If I was ever given a free pin that I didn't like, then I'd trade that one. But I'm only going to buy ones I like. A while back I got a free one in the park, if I can find that I might trade it.

So I went on ebay and searched pins for fun. I found one I really liked...bid on it...and got it for $4.05 (including shipping.) Woohoo! It should be here in a few days. This is what it looks like...

Very cute! I'm seriously thinkig about getting Reya into the Pin trading thing this year. Nothing major, just get her a handful of pins. Will be a nice way for her to interact with other people. Hope she's not too young for it. :confused3

That sounds fun!

I bought another pin on ebay...haha. I'm obsessed already.

Anyone have exciting plans for this weekend??

I might try to find a pair of jeans for this fall/winter. And I saw a cute pair of shoes online that I want to find. So exciting!

We also might go buy some trees. Right now our yard has no trees (our house was just built) so I'd like to get some things planted. We'll see, I guess. It's supposed to be kind of hot this weekend so that stinks. I'm so sick of summer.

OH NO!! I'm getting obsessed already too! :scared1: Love the pin!

I'm high bidder one three more pins...haha. But they don't end for a couple days. My husband started looking at pins with me and he's actually found quite a few that he wants too. Luckily the first two I bought weren't too expensive.

Nothing exciting here. It's the last weekend before school starts so I feel like we should do something, but I don't know what. I told them Sunday I'd make a big family breakfast with all their favorites.

Good luck finding jeans. And with the tree planting.

Just wondering, how hot is hot in your area? We're going to be between 101 and 107 the next 15 days. Now that's hot. LOL

Whew... I've been posting away.. I've got to get going and get caught up with this TR!

:surfweb:

OK, I'm all caught up!

I loved the pic of you in front of the partners statue... the flowers behind you are SO beautiful!

Then you posted flower pics... lol I especially like the purple's.

We have just had our first warm day after 3 days of cold, rainy weather. :umbrella:

I'm not ready for fall!!!!

Well, I should get to bed.. I need that "going to bed" type graphic that you used on one of your posts.. I am a TERRIBLE night owl!!

Great PTR!

I'm off to start the quest for jeans soon. Eek!

Well, for me, anything above 72ish is hot...haha. It got up into the 90's yesterday. I think it's going to be in the mid/upper 80's this weekend. I'm ready for the highs to be in the 60's for a while. Last year we basically went from summer to winter. So hopefully we have some fall this year.

I am also a night owl. I was doing really well after we moved but lately I've been falling into old habits of staying up until 3am.

This post will bore everyone to death. But I feel like posting instead of cleaning...haha.

I spent way too much money over the weekend! I bought two pairs of jeans, a pair of shoes, a sweater, and stuff to make silk flower arrangements. Oh, and I spent tons of money on ebay (buying Disney pins, of course.)

I got one pair of jeans at Kohls. I have a hard time finding jeans that fit right. I don't like low-rise jeans but I don't like ones you have to wear over the belly button. I did find a good pair though....

DH got two pairs of jeans at kohls and well as some shirts that were one sale. We also found a really pretty piece of art for our wall (it was 55% off...woohoo!)

After that we went to Old Navy and I got a pair of $12 jeans....

DH found a couple shirts on clearance for about $3.50 and $6.00. And a sweatshirt for $7. We love bargains!

I saw some cute sweaters but they were $30 each so I had to decide which one I wanted.

I ended up getting the second one. I love argyle and I don't own any sweaters like it yet.

Then it was off to Dillards. (It's a department store.) I almost always wear tennis shoes. I decided that this year I wanted a cute pair of brown flats to wear with jeans. I bought a black pair last year from Penney's. They were cheap and really, really uncomfortable so I never wore them. This time I decided to spend a little more money on a comfortable pair. I found a pair online that's the same brand as a pair of heels I have that are really comfortable.

But when we got to Dillards, they didn't have those. I found two other cute pairs.

They didn't have the first pair in my size....which is okay because I actually liked the second pair better. They aren't technically flats because they have a small heel. But I LOVE them. They were pretty expensive (at least by my standards) but I'm happy I got them. I can't wait to wear them!!

When we got home I tried them on with my new jeans and a shirt I bought at Kohls a while back. Unfortunately, I think I look like I'm newly pregnant in the shirt. That makes me sad. I don't think I'm fat but for some reason, in certain shirts...my gut looks big. And because the rest of me isn't that big...I look slightly pregnant. I'd be so embarassed if someone said congratulations or something. I mean, it's bad enough that people constantly ask when we're having kids...I don't need them asking when I'm due. So I'm sad because I don't know if I'll be able to wear the new shirt and I really love it. Maybe I'll post a picture and get some opinions.

Okay...enough babbling about clothes...haha.

Here are the pins I bought myself on ebay....

These are for DH....

They are all WDW pins but we don't care because we really like them. We tend to like the strange pins/attraction pins instead of character pins.

Cute pins! Especially the FP ones.

As for clothes, well, I can't speak for anyone else, but I love talking shopping! LOL
I think you should post a pic of you in that shirt. It might not be as bad as you think. We are always more critical of ourselves.

Well, I don't think I look 9 months pregnant or anything. But I do think people might look and me and think..."Hmm...is she pregnant?" Or people I know might get all excited for no reason. And that would just be depressing. I might post a picture later this week.

Fun pre-TR thread! I love the pictures. And P.S. you are so pretty.

We're going in 16 days! I'm probably going to start my own pre-TR soon...

Thanks for joining my little pre-trip report. I feel bad I haven't been doing much planning lately. The trip is still so far away. And honestly I'm not really a huge planner. But it's nice to have this little thread to come to and just talk about random things...like trees...haha.

But I know that the first thing we'll do is head the Space Mountain to see if there are any fast passes left. And if the line is short, we'll also ride it. We could ride Space Mountain over and over. One night (when we lived in socal) we went on Space Mountain 7 times in a row (there was no line.)

After that, I have no clue what we'll do. Probably just wander around a little and snap photos. We'll go on rides that have short lines. There aren't too many "must do's" for that day. I would like to go on Big Thunder though. I love that ride.

And I'm hoping Indiana Jones has a short line. It's another one of our favorites.

Those are our three main rides we always try to go on. Other than that...we'll basically just wander around and do whatever we feel like.

I'm a little sad because I'm sure the Matterhorn will be closed. Boo.

005.jpg

I'd like to walk around some of the shops too. I want to buy a pin lanyard and I also want to look at all of the pins.

I doubt we'll go to DCA that day...but you never know.
