Hi. I was wondering if tuxedos are the norm on formal night, or is a dark suit acceptable. thanks for any advice.

No a tux is not required. On our last trip in July I think I only saw 3 or 4 Tuxes on the entire ship. Totally up to you. I had a dark grey suit and fit in very nicely.

I agree. A tux isn't a "must."

However, in seven Disney cruises on the Magic I must say that a significant number of men do dress in a tux. Many more than 3 or 4 on my cruises. With that said, the number of men in a tux is far fewer than those wearing dark suits.

I saw very few men in tuxes last western cruise I was on....more suits than tuxes, even a few in jeans and one in shorts (not that I would ever show up in jeans or shorts though!!)

you don't have to wear tuxes unless you are my DH who will find an excuse to wear one! :-)

I wore a suit and never felt out of place.- Mike
