Is a fromal, long, stapless red dress alright to wear to V&A. I made the dress for our 25th anniversary service (looks professionally made I make dresses for weddings all the time) and would love to wear it to dinner. ( there is no clevage showing) i am quite covered up. I will also be wearing a tiara. I dont get to be a pricess very often with 5 children so every chance i get I love to dress up. My DH loved me in this dress and hope it's alright to wear. :worried: Im a little worried it wont be acceptable. i dont want to mess up our scpecial evening wearing the wrong thing. Any info you give would be great. pixiedust:

I have seen some people dressed very formally at V&A's. I've never noticed a tiara there in the main dining room, but I personally wouldn't have a problem with anyone wearing one. Are your reservations on your 25th anniversary, and you're doing a vow renewal at WDW, so you want to stay in the tiara & dress? I think I wasn't clear on that, when you said it was your 25th anniversary.

I wore my wedding dress & tiara to V&A's, but we had booked the private room for our wedding reception, so I wasn't actually in the dining room with the other diners.

Cheers!

I was just there on 7/10, and there was a wedding party in the main dining room with the bride still wearing her wedding gown.

I'm not sure you can be too formal at Victoria and Albert's.

Enjoy.

I've seen women in long gowns headed to V&A. I may wear one myself next time as I have a "mother of the groom dress" that would be fun to wear again!

I haven't seen anyone with a tiara but if you enjoy wearing it I can't imagine a better place to do so. Have fun! :thumbsup2

Wear it! I am sure it will look beautiful! I usually wear a cocktail type dress, and have worn a long black skirt with a lace top. I have seen everything from prom-type gowns, to cocktail dresses, to business suits.

It is your special night - wear what you feel good in (and what DH likes you in ;) )!

Happy Anniversary

wear it and make sure the anniversary celebration is noted on the reservation. i wore my formal from the cruise and my husband wore his tux. as one guest said, "y'all look stunning." you will look stunning~especiallyl in red! my fav color! enjoy and congratulations of 25 years of marriage  . ain't it great!?

Our anniversary was on Feb. 14 but we could not travel then so we chose Sept. We wanted to celebrate at WDW we just had to wait for the celebration.
We had a service at our church with all our children taking part in the renewal. I made the dress for that service. It was so special for us and to have all our children there made it even more special. It was my oldest daughters idea for me to wear the dress and tiara again. I figured I might as well use it twice if I can.

We are having dinner at V&A our last night at WDW. I hope it is a memory to not forget. We have never gone anywhere without our children and eating out is alway McD's so for us to eat at V&A is so special.
Thank you for your post.

All the posts have been very helpful.
Thank You.

I think you should wear it. I think the fact that you made the dress yourself makes it worthy of a second wearing in and of itself, but the fact that you feel great in it is the clincher! Go for it! (And post a picture so we can all be jealous, er, I mean admire you!)

I would post a pic but I don't know how. I tried before and cant quite figure it out. If you know how and can tell me I will give it a try. I have pics from Feb 14th service.

All the posts have been so positive and supportive.
I think it will be great to wear it again. :thanks:

Oh wear it! The dress sound beautiful and go ahead and wear your tiara with some diva attitude too!
Where else but Disney can you be a princess anyway?
When I went to V&A's I wore a black full skirted cocktail dress. And formality wise I was somewhere in the middle. I saw some with plainish skirts and blouses and some with sequined gowns. What is important is you feeling beautiful.
Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! princess:

We are going in August and I am wearing a long black dress (only long because I am short, but that is a different post), with black dressy sandals....... The dress has a sweetheart neckline and is very pretty but simple.
