I save spoon usage for soups and ice cream. My DH on the other hand uses a spoon for pudding, desserts, beans etc. Spoons and spoon usage for what I call fork food somewhat...bothers me. I know there are worse things in life. So do you use a spoon for just spoon foods?

I'll use a spoon for foods like beans as long as there aren't any fork foods on the plate at the same time. I use a spoon for almost any desert, especially if there's any sauce that I'll want to get every last bit of.

DH has an annoying (to me) spoon habit. He eats with a big spoon instead of the regular spoon. My mom always put the tea spoons at the table. We didn't really use the table spoons for much. But DH uses a table spoon to eat cereal, ice cream, etc. and gets indignant when I give him a "baby spoon" with his food. For some reason, it bugs the socks off of me that he eats with the table spoons.

I use a spoon for anything that would slip through a fork. Liquids, pudding (easier to get all of it with spoon), jello, ice cream. Otherwise a fork- cake, beans, rice...

Some people eat pudding with a fork?

DBF does that...drives me insane. I just tell him he has a big mouth, that's why he feels he has to use a big spoon.

I usually use the correct utensil, but for some reason I eat mac & cheese with a spoon. Those noodles just keep slipping off the fork :goodvibes

uh...the table spoons are meant for soup, cereal, any other "main course", and the "teaspoons" are really "dessert spoons"...

I use a fork for anything I would eat for dinner-meat/potatoes/veg/pasta etc.
Basically if it's served on a plate I use a fork, if it's served in a bowl I use a spoon.
Pudding is definately a spon food-I had some tonight as a matter of fact.
I can't imagine anyone using a fork to eat pudding.
As for teaspoons vs tablespoons-I use a tablespoon for soup and cereal, teaspoons for dessert/snack foods like pudding/ice cream.

You eat pudding with a fork? How the heck do you manage that??
I use a spoon for pudding, ice cream, soup, hot cereal, cereal, jello, ice cream cake...and some other things....oh and I use a tablespoon for cereal!

:rotfl2: haha, pudding with a fork! Are you serious? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Sorry I use a spoon for things such as rice, pudding, jello...

I use a spoon for rice, pudding, fruit, and various other food. I use a big spoon too.

Where I grew up, the norm was to eat with a spoon rather than a fork like people in USA do. I had the hardest time eating rice with a fork - it just took forever to eat it that way.

I use spoons for pudding, icecream, cereal and soup. And it has to be a childs spoon, hate big ones..

I like forks alot better

:scared: Also my first thought - pudding with a fork? I'm visualizing some pretty chunky pudding!

Your top two poll choices is unfair. It makes it seem like there is correct foods to use spoons. As you have found, for many of us, spoons ARE correct for various foods.

I can't imagine eatting pudding with a fork! :rotfl2:
Don't you just end up raking through the pudding? Pudding is for SCOOPING. How do you pick up pudding with a fork?!? Do you have to use the side of the fork & scoop it up sideways? In which case, you are using a fork incorrectly! ;) :rotfl:

Banana pudding. That is fairly chunky.

I can't imagine using a fork for pudding! You'd miss half of the stuff stuck to the sides of that little carton! (can you tell I usually eat the Handisnack ones?)

I answered "the correct utensil" because in my opinion, a spoon is used for things like pudding - it has a similar consistency as ice cream, why wouldn't you?

I only eat banana pudding and usually my MIL's and it is very thick  I don't eat much ice cream and never in public, the same with soups. I am a messy eater and try to oder accordingly in public.
