Forget the Wii, I got a PS3!!

I think we'll see a PS3 price drop sooner rather than later, even in Japan I've heard they're not selling very many

I think when the number and quality of games increases they will sell more. There just aren't that many games out there yet that take advantage of the capabilities of the system. There will be a game in the not too distant future that will be to the PS3 what Halo was for XBOX and will have more people interested in buying the system.

I heard the decision between the Blue Ray vs. HD DVD will be decided by which one the porn industry chooses! And, I have to agree. It's the old battle of Beta vs. VHS!

I watched Madacascar on a 1080p TV with a BluRay player at Best Buy a couple of days ago. holy crap, I understand why they are, you can see every hair on the lions.

My cousin works at one of the local NBC affiliates that just went HD and he said all the on camera folks were griping about it. You really can see every line and wrinkle. He said buy stock in Botox!

Dh has had almost every system ever made including the Neo Geo and 3DO. It's his hobby. We have an xbox 360 and decided to wait until the dust settles on the PS3. He finally found a Wii a few weeks ago and we all love it. The graphics are nothing spectacular but the Wiimote and Nunchuk add so much to the gameplay. He loves Zelda.

My 16 year old son loves the 360. Halo, Call of Duty and any other first person shooter. He was even having a great time boxing his Dad on the Wii.

I'm sure we'll eventually end up with a PS3 eventually, but Sony came into the market high priced and lacking titles at launch.

We have a PS3 too and we LOVE it! Of course we still have a PSP2 still in the basement. We've even rented Blue Ray disk and watched it on there.

It's like watching something that is real, very cool!

I think I may buy the BluRay version of the Departed. I watched the DVD last night and it was so good, I'd love to see it in BluRay.

Maybe not.

There is already talk aobut how bad the quality has been on adult HD-DVD and Blue Ray discs. The reality is that unless they start filming with good quality equipment there will be no visible difference between standard DVD's and high defintion discs. The quality is never any better than the source material and many still record on video tape.

We're holding off on the HD-DVD issue until they get something figured out. We lived through the Beta-VHS battle---I refuse to go through it again.

There were a bunch of PS3s at Toys R Us today. The sales guy said they've been sitting there while not being able to keep the Wii in stock. From what I've seen, the graphics are gorgeous but the games aren't there yet & the price is too high.

If it came down about $150-200, we'd probably own a PS3. I'm finding I like different platforms because not every game is for every system. Thus why we own a 360. And a Wii. And why we just picked up our 3rd DS Lite today (the pink one's mine--no one touches my baby! DH got tired of sharing the white one with the kids so now he owns a black one.) No, we're not videogamers--can you tell?

As for Halo 3? Eh. I'm holding out for Mass Effect & BioShock myself.
