Forecast - thunderstorms next 10 days

I've been watching the flights from Newark to Orlando, and some of the flight changes they had to do is pretty extreme.

This is the usual flight path;

This is the one they had to use in the last two days;

Wow! Looks like it would add a considerable amount of time to the flight. I'm perfectly fine with that! Good to see they DO take a wide berth of the "mess". Would definitely rather be safe!

I have Orlando, Walt Disney World, and my hometown on my weather.com site, and my hometown in eastern NC has two tropical storm warnings and one flash flood warning while Orlando and WDW only have the tornado watches out (not that tornado watches are anything to sneeze at). So, hopefully that means the Mouse will not feel the brunt of Hermine. Just be safe getting there everyone! I don't worry about those who are flying, you'll be fine. But if you're driving, keep up-to-date on the latest and sit tight somewhere safe until it clears if need be. Mickey will wait.

NOW... Weather Channel has the center as being over Norfolk, VA between 6-7am Sat.!! I had to pause my tv to make sure I was seeing it right! They keep moving it Northward faster and faster!

Driving in for a Friday check in. In Mississippi now with sunny skies. Going to Birmiham tonight and decide what weathers says, we might stay there tonight. Staying in the park 9/2 to 9/9, but lived in Florida for a time so I know the unreliability of forecasts. Fall in the South... If you don't like the weather wait a few minutes and it will change!

We're flying tomorrow morning, leaving Albany, NY arriving MCO 11:00. So far all says on schedule.

We're actually driving from Pensacola to Disney right now. We're almost to I-75 South. Tallahassee was pretty stormy but so far it hasn't been worse than other thunderstorms we've driven through. We're just driving slower than normal and being careful. Good luck to everyone else trying to get in tonight and tomorrow!

I was just driving home from volunteering at GKTW and my phone started flipping out about tornado warnings. The worst should be over by the time I have to leave for work tomorrow, so my main worry is that if we lose power, I don't know how to manually open my garage door to get my car out!

You tube has many videos about this simple procedure. Just type in "How to open garage door if no power."

There should be a cord on the overhead door opener that you release to unlock. Then you manually lift up door. Be csreful, some doors can be heavy:eek:. Good luck!:goodvibes

Is anyone in the WDW area? I read on another threat that a twister was in the area. Any updates?

No mention of such a thing on WESH or Fox35 so I'm thinking it's not true. There were T warnings, but nothing "hit MK".

We've been driving around this evening in DW. The ground is wet, there are puddles on the road but nothing out of the ordinary. It didn't rain at DS as we walked around for a couple of hours outside.

Weather was beautiful at mk until wishes started. Then the skies opened up! ! We came back to pop completely drenched but it looks like it never even rained here.

The tornado watch was upgraded to a tornado warning which implies there was one near here... News reports show something in the area but not in WDW...
