Forecast shows rain EVERYDAY we are there!

So far it looks like rain EVERYDAY while we are there, and I don't mean "scattered thunderstorms" like FL is known for, I'm seeing rain from the 27th to sept 3! I sure hope this isn't totally accurate since its still 9 days away but wow that would be a total bummer. I can handle the hour or so quick showers but all day would really put a damper on our vacation. We LOVE the waterparks too.

Relax. I checked weather.com (the only reliable site I've found) and the last day of the 10 day forecast is the first day of your vacation. Which means it will change daily from now until then. Who the heck knows what is going to happen until then? I never check the weather until the day before we leave because it changes so much.

We once went to Disney World for ten days and it rained every single day. I got back and mentioned that to someone who said "oh, I'm so sorry." My reply was "why? it was a fantastic trip!" If you want the rain to ruin your vacation, it will.

Hi. You're coming to Florida and it's summer and it's Hurricane season, rain is inevitable. Yes, it will rain probably every day, so be prepared. Storms usually last anywhere from a 15 minutes to an hour or two, but it doesn't usually rain all day. Now that you know this you can plan accordingly, when the storm starts to roll in, go eat dinner, watch a show, do some shopping, explore the resort, take a nap or grab a poncho and join the crowd. Don't let a little rain get you down.

Honestly.. I enjoy the rain at Disney. As long as I am not cold and wet then it can rain all day if it wants to. It really does help break up the heat and the crowds. I love it.

Ok...here's the deal. It's WDW/Orlando. It's late August. It's gonna rain, and maybe a really bad thunderstorm will crop up. And it may very well rain every day. That's pretty normal for Orlando in August. Bring ponchos with you. Bring shoes that can get wet. Then go, have fun.
The only time it deters us is if a huge thunderstorm comes along...and that's happened. It's not something you want to be out in.

Looking at a weather forecast this far in advance isn't going to give you anything close to accurate. Start checking it out on the 24th!!! And even then it's not going to be perfect.

Yup. Daily rain is par for course for Florida.

But expect rain in August in Florida every day and make the most of it. Probably will get the daily passing t-storm. It goes away.

Not to pile on, but how do you know that the rain that is forecasted during your trip WON'T be the scattered thunderstorms Florida is known for? It's Florida, it's late August/Early September. Plan for it to rain between the hours of 3 and 6 every day. Some days it will be 10-minute showers, others the showers could last an hour or two. But some ponchos and repeat the mantra "We won't melt in the rain." A rainy day in Disney World is better than any day at home.

As a FL resident I can say that we have been having about an hour of rain a day, it comes and goes.... The rain isn't so bad.. It is the heat and humidity, I welcome the rain without T-storms...

Well, I feel better after reading your replies, I do expect rain everyday, I just was hoping it won't be a total washout! I already packed the ponchos!
And YES I agree, a rainy day at Disney is better than any day at home/work!!!!

I was just there for 3 days,every day had a 40-60% chance of rain.The first day didn't rain at all but it was so hot you almost wanted some rain to cool the day down.The next day the morning was cloudless and beautiful,around 1-2pm the black clouds rolled in and we had a downpour with heavy winds for an hour or two.We were at Sea World in the morning and were going to go to MK afterwards,even though the morning was very nice we almost passed out from the heat in the dolphin show from having the sun right above us and with the metal bleachers which were burning hot.When the rains came we left Sea World and took a water and strawberry Popsicle break at Whole Foods watching the rain come down.When we got to MK the rain was gone and the clouds stuck around so the heat was more manageable.The third day started rainy and overcast,we went for breakfast at Cracker Barrel and by the time we got to the parks the rain was gone and althoughthe clouds stuck around most of the day that was a good thing since it was nowhere as hot as the other two days,we were actually pretty comfortable all day barely sweating and there was no more rain all day.The point here is that even though there was a good chance of rain every day,one day it didn't rain at all,the second day it was a an hour or two of strong storms which went away and the third was light rain in the morning which went away and the rest of the day was gray but cooler.Take a break when it rains as the rains typically do not last all day,of course they're annoying but you can still enjoy your days.

I'm the same way!!!! I actually have a dedicated Disney bag for my trips, even though we only go once every 5 years or so. All my D-stuff is in that bag ready to go!!

The only way we have a washout this time of year is if we have a tropical system going through. There is one they are keeping an eye on that is at least a week to a week and a half away. So they may be factoring that into their extended forecast, even though most of the computer models are taking it south of Florida right now.

Also, many of the weather websites have been predicting a week of rain for at least a month now, but they keep pushing it down a week as the forecast gets more accurate. I've been watching the extended forecast because I was planning a weekend getaway to the beach and wanted to pick one with half decent weather (which is what I got - half sunny and half stormy ). So it's possible that they will continue to move that rainy forecast out of the way of your trip.

Don't be concerned about rain. But do be concerned if there's lightning. We've been having some wild thunderstorms lately with a lot of lightning and that is dangerous to be out in.

They were forcasting rain every day for our trip last August... and it rained, EVERYDAY! And I'm not talking those short FL showers everyone tells you about, I'm talking about poring rain every single day. And you know what, we didn't mind one bit. It didn't ruin our trip in the least! We bought the ponchos and stored them in the 2-gallon zip lock bags in my back pack as we got on and off rides. You have to remember that most ride lines and most shows are in covered buildings. Did we get wet going from ride to ride? Yes, yes we did! They even cancelled Fantasmic the one night when Ariel almost fell off the rock on her float. But the parks were so empty that week that we went back two nights later and saw the show. Don't worry, I know I was really worried looking at my forcast last year too. In the end the forcast was right and it didn't matter at all. There were a few hours here and there where it wasn't raining and that's when we did our outside photos in front the castle and such. People looking at our photos could hardly tell how much it rained! We ran into TSM to get out of a down pour, wait time said 90 minutes and we figured at least the ride que was dry! Got on in 45 minutes, rode and it was STILL pouring when we got out! Gotta love those Disney ponchos....

We are there the 25th - 30th, and I am watching the development of Isaac very carefully. Way too soon to know where he'll go or when he'll go there, but he makes me nervous. We've never been to WDW with the kids in August, and I was opposed to it because of the hurricane threat. Really hoping Isaac stays away!

I've heard WDW keeps everything open as long as it's safe, so we're planning on forging ahead regardless. Worst case scenario, we'll have some good stories to tell.

Honestly, I will take the rain over the humidity any day.

But, no matter the weather, I am just looking forward to being there. Nothing is going to spoil my joy when I get there!!

Did DHS two days ago and MK yesterday. Rained for several hours at DHS, only an hour or so yesterday afternoon in MK. Rides closed for short periods, shows were shortened, M&Gs were moved, and some people got water on them.

Actually, if you read most of the replies to the OP, I think you'll agree that is what most have said - albeit somewhat more politely.
