Ford Mustang owners

This thread is about to make me cry. I have wanted a vintage Mustang since I was old enough to know the difference between cars. My dh thinks I am nuts. He tells me that I'd be much happier with a new one, but I still really want an original.

Until I win the lottery, I can dream!

Honest Abe, I must say that your new one is absolutely gorgeous!

The seats are really comfortable and I love having a sports car on the Interstate - handling, ability to punch the gas pedal and avoid possible bad situations. When I drive our Impala, it feels like I'm trying to navigate in a brick, and if I have to use the F250, oh man. . .

Due to an accident on the highway on our way home from WDW, we were too tired to drive any longer and pulled over in a rest area to sleep a few hours. I couldn't believe how comfortable the seats were to sleep in. The backseat is too small, but we very seldom have anyone back there anymore.

I too love to punch the gas and know I will actually GO!

My kids couldn't believe we stopped and slept in a rest area because that is just not something we would ever do, but since we were parked next to a Rolls Royce I felt pretty safe! I took pictures of the Rolls and sent it to the kids and told them we were parked next to P Diddy.

I don't know if you're aware of this, but there are companies out there that take new mustangs and they install body panels from the originals so they look like the old style, but are all modern.

Also, a couple of years ago, another company finally started making sheet metal that's exactly the same as the original too, so you could have a car built from reproduction parts that is exactly the same as the original down to the headlight switches!

I had heard of that, but unfortunately still a dream for now. Maybe after the kids are grown up.....

The guys on the mustang forums were really being whiners that I hadnt posted pics of the new Shelby GT500, so I went and made a quick photo shoot. Thought it might be nice to share here if you are interested. Enjoy!

Abe - that is one beautiful machine! Enjoy her!!!

If you ever happen to find yourself in MN with her, I would love it if you would swing by and take me for a drive.:thumbsup2

Whew...good thing you didnt check behind it's ears for dirt! I'd be in real trouble!:lmao:

Hey, no engine photos? What an absolutely beautiful car! I'm just a little bit jealous.

Honest Abe, thanks again for the cold air intake advice. I would have asked on this thread but I couldn't find it the other day.
