I'm back and did not feel at all sick or dizzy on the ride, though think I would have if it had been all movie part instead of switching it up. I wore my sea bands but did not take any med. It was awesome!
And for some people, closing your eyes on a simulator ride is the *worst* idea, because your inner ear still senses the movement. The human body really is a strange place.
My mom has been going back and forth on riding HPFB and this information is... discouraging. I'll have to try the ride myself and see if she could handle it.

Closing my eyes during the quidditch simulator part of this ride works perfectly for me. The occular cues play a huge role in motion sickness in my case. Keeping your head still is supposed to be a major contributor to stopping motion sickness, so make sure she is told to keep her head back against the headrest and as still as possible. Older people are also supposed to be less likely to suffer from motion sickness....something to look forward to I guess, lol.
I just rode FJ today!!! My daughter rode it last night and decided mom would be fine...she was right!! I did take 2 motion sickness pills though, one last night at bedtime and one this morning while eating a light breakfast in the club lounge at RP. I would not ride FJ without those pills! The ride is very smooth, not jerky at all. It does have some vivid visual effects, but the motion pills worked for me. I did close my eyes a time or two and that helped too. We plan on riding again but will wait until later tonight!
