Which Mission Space did you do? I forget - are they green and orange? One spins and one doesn't.
If you rode the one that spins (which ever is harsher, orange?) I would say it is DEFINITELY more intense than Forbidden Journey. If you rode the easier one - than I would say FJ is more intense.
FJ actually moves around a lot as opposed to other simulators which mostly move the angle you are facing. There are some moments in FJ that put you far onto your back - nearly upside down.
The first time I rode FJ was first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and I was a little queasy after. Not like ruin-the-day sick, but it took me an hour or so to feel normal. Since then I have ridden it many times (NOT on an empty stomach) and I've been fine - though I don't think I would ride it several times in a row. I have ridden Simpsons many MANY times and it doesn't bother me at all.
As a point of reference, I rode MS when it first opened (only the intense one) and it made me slightly sick for HOURS afterward.
For what it is worth, FJ is AMAZING - even the first time I rode it and got a little nauseated, it was worth it.
Oh, and meclizine works great for me - I now take one every morning when I am at any theme or amusement park.
I can't be much help as I don't really get motion sickness and FJ didn't bother me at all, BUT I will say that we tried Mission Space 2 years ago. I was happy to have tried that ride but I will NEVER go on that one again. It's basically a centrifuge which is used for astronaut training (from what I've read, don't quote me). That's the only time I was happy that they had barf bags on a ride. I felt closed in with a giant weight on my chest and looking away from the screen made it worse. FJ was no where near that. So for anyone debating the orange side of MS...if you get motion sickness, I would opt for the green side or opt out completely.
