An old Places Post....

Today's musical selection is from a New Caledonian group called WE CE CA - try not tapping your foot to this one - click on the picture next to the landing airplane to hear it!

This comes from a wonderful page of South Pacific and Islander music that I found....Mangrove Records.
KANEKA, the music of the the native Kanak people is prominently on display.

The sail-like buildings make up the Tjibaou Cultural Center which includes exhibits of the Kanak culture.

Rita, how did you like Marco Island? We are in the throws of planning our summer vacation (the saving grace through SADness) and we have considered Marco Island. We just don't know anything about Florida beaches, so we are trying to gather as much info as we can.

This is Young Island, a small private island/resort just off St. Vincent in the Grenadines.

Judi~ Just love Marco Island and have been going there since the early 80's. It has really changed over the years.

I prefer the beach at Marco Island (water seems cleaner), but prefer Sanibel Island for everything else. You can't go wrong with either one. If you are interested, I have a booklet left from our summer vacation and I'll be happy to send it to you, let me know. If you want to know anything specific let me know. The only hotel where we have stayed is Marriott's Marco Beach Resort which is on the beach, I don't know about the others. They were in the process of remodeling when we were there in July, but should be done by now.

It's really beautiful over there, I LOVE the Gulf coast of FL.
