Does your bedroom and bath coordinate? We just re did our bedroom in eggplant/sage green/ and cofee, but I am having a hard time finding things for the bathroom in these colors. Right now the bath is pretty neutral but it is wallpapered and I would like to take the wallpaper off and have it painted. I guess I could stick with neutrals. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I really haven't done much decorating upstairs in our house (new house - still haven't painted the white walls though)...but even in our old house - the rooms never MATCHED...but they complimented.

what color is the flooring/countertops/fixtures in your masterbath?

I did eggplant/sage green in our old master bath...and i happened to find everything at Target. (all the accesories)

I'm afraid that I am the coordinating queen. My master bath and bedroom are both sage, burgundy and cream and tan. I did see some bath coordinates in your colors at Kohl's I believe.

My entire downstairs all coordinates. The rooms are not all the same color, but there is an underlying monochromatic theme of the same color throughout. I have always been taught that your house "flows" better when things coordinate.

The upstairs for the most part also coordinates, but the kids' bedrooms each have their own distinct color and style. They like it that way and I figure not too many people go up there anyway.

I forgot to answer your other question. Which color is predominant in your bedroom and which are the accent colors? I would pick one of the accent colors and paint it that, and keep your rugs, window treatment and other accessories the same colors as your bedroom. That way it will be different, but still match.

::yes:: I am coordinating my bedroom and master bath. I painted my bath a light Sage and it looks terrific as a bathroom color. Very relaxing. I am going for a "spa" bathroom.

I am going to paint my bathroom

I was in there an awful lot last night, and it gave me time to think

You should have brought a long handled roller instead of reading material in with you last night. :p :p

The floor and shower tiles are a little darker than cream:confused: Then the built in closet/shelving and cabinets are cherry with a dark granite countertop.

I was thinking of doing the bathroom in cream and coffee with just the green and eggplant accents. I will go to Target and Kohls.

Same paint color on the bedroom, sitting room and master bath walls, since it is essentially one space. Walls are a khaki taupe color with gold silks & sage green for the fabrics. I had great success with Eddie Bauer for towels, as well as a specialty bath boutique. EB had a lot of colors, and towels are nicely sized and absorbent. Lands End also has a good towel selection, but their sage green was horrible. Had to send it right back...too minty.

Nope they don't match. Bedroom is blue. Bathroom is cream walls (original color) and the rugs are dusty pink. I would love to have them match but dh didn't want a pink bedroom. ;)

MOMTOMOOTOO, I think you are on the right track. That sounds beautiful.:)

I have alot of "brushed chrome" accessories...they allow me to switch out the color if I ever wanted to - right now my master bath is just beige and, well, beige...except for my sage towel! heheeh (I use the sage, DH uses the cream ones)

but cherry wood would look beautiful with a coffee/cappucciono colored wall!

Hmmmm That have anything to do with your deli meat question?

My master bath is blue and white with a nautical theme same as the bedroom.

We haven''t pained yet since we just moved in. Our bedroom is done with a tropical resort feel and our bathroom is accented with palm trees, of course. ;)

My bedroom and master bath do not match. Then again, neither does anything else in my house LOL. My bathroom is however, Sage Green and Eggplant. I got my stuff at Penney's and Kohls. I have not had any problems finding stuff to go in it.

Wow all these sage and eggplant and I thought I was being unique;) I did try BB&B for accents with no luck and also Macys:confused: I guess I will keep looking.

My3, you mentioned gold silk, that sounds beautiful with those colors. Maybe I should look into some gold accents as well for the bedroom. Maybe some silk throw pillows hmm....

Hi!

You are smart to go to BB&B & Macy's.

My suggestion is to continue looking through the bath departments at department stores, Walmart, KMart, Stein Mart, etc. There are so many themes & accessories now for the bath. See if you can find a theme that you like. Then you can decide if having the theme & accessories are enough, and/or if you also want to paint to match.

Congrats on all the fun you will have decorating!
