For those who purchased "kids free" tickets

I picked up my tickets at the kiosk on Feb. 3 ( I purchased the buy 2 adults and get 2 free kids) and passed them out to my family, my kids are 12 and 17 and nobody said anything or really even looked to see if the tickets were different or not

As I mentioned in my previous post:

"The tickets being printed at the kiosks (will call) now have the child/adult designation printed on them. "

I posted that on Feb. 7th. That is the day that the kiosk started printed off tickets with child printed on them. You got your tickets before the change. I still haven't heard if the online orders which are mailed have started printing child on their tickets though.

Phamton, I don't remember if you are onsite do you use your ticket or your key to enter the parks?

At Universal you use your tickets. So far Universal hasn't done the room key like Disney. Your room key will only be for FOTL, etc. not for entry into the park.

Our tickets were mailed on Wednesday (and arrived today :thumbsup2 ) They are all identical so obviously, they haven't started printing adult/child designation on them just yet :confused3

Bev, as I asked before will we definitely be able to purchase the 5-day tickets (promotional offer) at the gate or are we best ordering 2 more online?

You can not purchase them at the gate. The only way you can get them is a Guest services. You have to let them know that you didn't purchase enough of them online or thought the child's tickets were for older children.

It happens quite often as many times, people forgot to order the free child's tickets or didn't get enough adult tickets.

I just had an order arrive for the buy one adult ticket get the child free offer. All the tickets look the same. So it does not seem like they have changed anything yet.

Phamton, have you heard anything new about this yet? Thanks!

ditto for us -- we got our 4 tix (2 for my kids) and I can't tell any of them apart.

It seems as if the online orders still look the same (no adult or child written on them). So far only the kiosks (will call) have changed.

I checked the Universal site yesterday to look at buying tickets, and it seems as if now the only way to get the buy 1 get 1free kids deal is to use kiosk pickup. Has anybody else looked at this? Am I correct, or am I missing something?

I though that I saw the florida residents one day ticket for 39.99 last week?
Now 49.99.
I mean I also see the kiosk pickup only option for the FL resident tickets, too! The price for fl residents, and ONLY PICK UP method of buying both types of tickets changed all at once? Universal must be very busy making changes.
I wonder what is the story with the power pass because that is the one I am really ineterested!

What is going on?

The kids free is now only available to be picked up at the kiosks or at Guest Services.

Yes, the $39.99 ticket was an error on the website but is now corrected.

The FL resident Power pass discount ($20 off) is available online or can be purchased at Guest Services. Be sure and bring your Wendy's coupon or Coke code.

For what is going on: Universal is offering many great deals online that can't be purchased at the gate. They are increasing their online employees to handle the increased sales online which will also reduce line wait at the ticket windows. For the best deals, order online.

I hope there are no errors for the power pass 20.00 dollar coupon promotion when I go to the park on May 2006. Now I am thinking maybe they will change the power pass promotion, too! Even if U work with them U may never know 100% what is Universal thinking to do next!Seems like they are offering good promotions, but then they look into the proffit and they change prices so they will not loose money.
Still, when comparing Disney to Universal, Universal comes out with the best discounts, and that is the reason why I have been only 4 times into Disney and a lot of times at Universal.
Thanks Phamton.

There is no mistake on the Power pass but there may be an expiration on using the Wendy's coupons. I don't know about that one as I haven't looked closely at any of the coupons. Anytime you order something online from Universal, if there is a mistake on the website when you order it, the price will be honored.

They didn't change it because of profit/lose. It was a mistake pure and simple. Disney had a mistake on hotel reservation prices a couple of months ago. A few got in on the good deal before the mistake was caught and corrected.

Humans make mistakes. People who design websites make mistakes. It happens.

I just received my tickets via Fed Ex yesterday and they all look the same as well. However when I called and gave them the numbers on the back, they told me which ones were adults and which ones were the kids. The reason I called is because my husband is taking one of the kids to Islands and I am taking the other kids to the Studios. We will meet up later. My question is should I mark my tickets as to which is which? Do the tickets come up child/adult when you are going through the turnstile? i.e. does it say a child's ticket and what if I was going through? I don't want to make a mistake and not have the right ticket with me and be embarrased. I wish the names were just on there, like an annual pass, and that would help the confusion. Also the man on the phone said that the ticket did indeed expire at the end of the year. Does it really?

Thanks for your help. Where is the restaurant Mythos? Is it in the park? Or on the CityWalk? EDIT: OK, I just saw it is in Islands. Do I need a reservation for lunch? How many days in advance can I make these?

Also I took an online survey and it said that we were eligible for a $150 coupon book. Do I go to guest services for this? Do I just bring my ticket or my confirmation letter? What is really listed in the booklet?

At the turnstiles right now it doesn't come up as a child's ticket.

I guess I am not explaining this well so let me try again. At Guest Services and also when you call about your online tickets, they scan the tickets. It doesn't say adult or child just that it is the 5 day bonus tickets. There is a place on the computer screen that you can choose that says "view order." It pulls up your total order.

It would then list all the adult tickets that you paid for with the barcodes. Then it lists the free tickets with their barcodes. So technically they can see which tickets were assigned as the free tickets. When you go through the gate, it doesn't matter who uses what ticket to get in. They are a package deal. So even though you were told which tickets were the free tickets they are not labelled as child's tickets except on the order form.

So if you ordered 2 adults and 2 child's tickets for your children age 3-9, you can just hand everyone in your group of 4 their tickets and not worry who has which ticket.

The Kiosks are printing the free tickets and labelling them as childs tickets and adult tickets but if you had your tickets mailed to you, there is no difference. So if you and your husband happened to be using the free tickets while your children used the paid for tickets, if there was any problem at all, they could just pull up your order at Guest services.

Thank you for the reply and the information. That explains it clearly.

So do the tickets (buy an adult, get a child's free) really expire at the end of 2006 like the man on the telephone said?

As of right now, they do not. But the kiosks ones may expire. I haven't seen them yet, just heard.
