A very small question: Do you show the server your card before you order or when the bill is presented. We leave in 8 hours, and I couldn't find this info anywhere in the DDE information I received in the mail.

Your help would be much appreciated!!

We used DDE in FEb. and intend to again in 2 weeks. We were never asked in advance for card and never had any problems. In fact, personally when asked if you are on a dining plan the honest answer is no. I may be wrong, but I think you may get better service not being on the dining plan. Of course, remember to tip on the entire bill(before the DDE % discount). Have a nice trip.

We told our servers right away. I thought I read that you should do that.

Have fun!!

Hi, We always tried to show DDE before bill was delivered, but not before we ordered.Sometimes the bill would come before we had a chance to show DDE, but the bill was always happily readjusted. Have Fun and GOOD Eats! Joan

DDE is not like being on the dining plan where tip is included so I don't think it would affect your service at all. However, there is no need to tell them before you order. I usually told them I had the card when I would ask for the check, but even if they bring you the check first, they can go back and fix it later. No worries. Doesn't matter when.

No I never gave my DDE card before paying and only our server at Ohana had an "ever so slight" wince when I put it on the table with my resort card. She said something like, I am sorry I have to give this to the manager for adjustment. It didn't take any longer than usual and it was no problem.

The only issue I had was that I never saw the total bill before the deduction. It takes the 20% off item by item. I wanted to be sure and tip on the amount before the deduction, see I am an accountant I don't do math on vacation!

A couple times I had my 10 yo do it and we called it "math facts" lol.

I always said, no, not on a dining program and we had great service except for H&V and many great meals. Our favorite was lunch at LeCellier by a mile.

We have done both before and after the bill was presented, but only if they dropped it off before we expected it. We didn't have any problems at all.

AT our very first meal,I made mention of the DDE card when we ordered, but was told by the CM it wasn't necsaary, the bill would be "adjusted" after the meal. That's what happened, and that's how we did it the rest of the week. Just gave the DDE card when we got the check, it was swiftly re-adjusted to show the discount.

We just give the card at the end of the meal with the credit card. They bring all the receipts back showing the discount so you can verify everything. However if you want to pay by cash, then you have to give them the card first and have the discount taken, then you can pay.
