(not sure how many of you actually still browse these boards, as most of the regulars here would never sell their DVC :p so assumably those who have sold probably aren't here anymore.)

anyway, i'm just starting to gather some info...

my first question has to do with posting an ad on TUG.
i'm not a TUG member, and was confused how i go about posting an ad there?
i don't really feel the need to join TUG since i don't own any other timeshares, and don't really plan to do any exchanges with my remaining DVC points.
but there was something about TUG members get preference for posting sale ads?
so would it still be a better option to join TUG?
or should i just post an ad as a non-member?

also, regarding closing/escrow companies.
i tried to contact Timeshare Closing Services (since they handled the closing when i first bought in), but they have not been too responsive.
what other closing/escrow companies are recommended?
i think i've heard Holland & Knight mentioned before...
does anyone have their contact info?

thanks in advance for any advice you might have.

tug add to non-member cost - I think it is $10 - so I would just go aheard and join.

check the want ads before you post - you might find someone there who wants what you have - you might have to come down a little in price.

I would definitely post about the closing company on tug.

to post in the discussion side you don't have to be a member of tug - you just have to registrator (like the dis boards).

I would also post on
www.redweek.com
this you would have to join (it cost $10) to post or read here - again after you join (they don't let anyone just look anymore) - then again read the want ads before you post. It could same you some time.

I use Shontell to get rid of my VB - she got me a person in less than a couple of days and then DVC brought it back.....

thanks, spiceycat. i'm also sending you a PM.

i guess what i'm wondering about is, i think it costs $15 to join TUG?

what are the benefits of joining TUG?
i just don't see it as helping me much. i don't think i will use any of TUG's features.

or maybe the question is, is there a drawback to posting an ad on TUG as a non-member?

no draw back to my knowledge

but some tuggers are strange - they hate to give out information in the advice section without telling non-members to join.

I have been very happy with my membership - they are where I found out about Sa (south africia) - I paid $350 for a white season and it has traded into Hilton Grand Vacation CLub at SW this last Oct for mother's birthday - Thanksgiving next year at the Sheraton's Vistana Resort and I hope Thanksgiving or July 4 in 2005 at Orange Lake - all 2 bedrooms - I am trading a 1-bedroom - so I have learned alot from that group.

I also brought my Panama City Beach timeshare on tug.

i answer your pm.

thanks again, spiceycat. that is strange that that is the dynamic at the TUG boards...
anyway, i will probably just go the non-member route then.

does anyone else have any advice on closing companies who work with independent sellers?
i want to use a reputable company that both myself and the buyer will feel comfortable with.

I just purchased a BWV contract off of tug and used the Timeshare Closing Service....I just had them email me there standard closing info.....It has been fairly simple...PM me if you have any questions...

Just join TUG, for $15 for the year plus the free ad, it's essentially free. I don't know if they take Non members adds or not, if they do, I can assure you it will be higher than the members $10 for 3 months price.
