Do you still have to leave a credit card behind reception incase of 'breakages'? We do not have any - just maestro. But seeing as we booked through disney, they already have all our details.

we dont have a credit card and just leave money or travellers cheques so we can charge to the room. this is what we will do this year and have done the past few trips over there we have done

Hi there!

We didn't leave any form of payment (no credit card, cheque, cash etc) at the desk as we didn't want to charge anything via our Key to the World tickets. POFQ reception seemed fine with this.

They ask you if you want to leave a credit card or cash - you dont have to. We find it works for us as we dont need to pay the bill for items until the end and it is then one bill. You can also check with the front desk each day how your account is looking. It works well for us. In fact we hand over a card but tend to pay cash on our departure:thumbsup2

Thanks. thats a relief. when we stayed offsite last yr, the hotel insisted on credit card or $400 cash behind desk, or we were told we could not check in. i was so upset, $400 is alot of money. They would not budge on it. Its nice to know i won't have to worry about that this time around:goodvibes

I always leave card details, I find it so much easier, it also means only one card transaction for those whos credit card makes a charge for a foreign currency charge.

Hi

The other posters are correct - this is not necessary. Disney hotels (on check in) will ask if you intend charging things back to the room and only in those circumstances will they take a credit card number (or cash).

Personally I do charge my card to the room - useful especially for tips (and the odd souvenir) and you can choose which members of your party have the 'charging' room card - last year I opted for DD not to have a charging card but I think I'll allow her this time.

Enjoy your first on-site stay.
