Is is true that the hotel just uses a regular sheet in the pack and plays and not a fitted sheet?
For those who bring your own, has mouskeeping ever accidentally taken it?

Yes they do use a fitted pack n play sheet-- mickey mouse is on it. But I do always bring my own to put over theirs and they have never taken it.

We stay at DVC and we do not get mousekeeping, but I always bring my own sheets.

We have gotten a regular bed sheet folded over as a pack n play sheet. My daughter was less than 3 months old at the time and we called housekeeping and asked them for a pack n play sheet since using a queen size bed sheet is a big hazard for a baby and they said they were all out and would try to get us one the next day. The did end up bringing one the next day, but we never even used the pack n play because it was so old and used that it was very, very shaky if you barely touched it. She slept in our bed on that trip (I know, like that's any safer than the queen size sheet or the rickety pack n play), but we took off the blankets and put her in her sleep positioner.

Oh, this was at the GF. We stayed at Pop the night before and got a pack n play there and it appeared to be brand new and had a fitted sheet. This was in May 2004, so Pop was pretty new so that might have something to do with the age of the pack n play there vs. the GF. Next stay at the GF we asked for a regular crib and that worked out much better.

We've stayed at OKW and used their p&p - not necessarily brand new, but certainly not like as described at GF. I carry my own sheet always - its just a habit I've learned. Never had a problem with it disappearing (we were 'hotel' guests at OKW, not DVC).

good luck!

Never had a problem with it either. Everytime I have ever seen a pack n play it had a MM sheet so I think they use that as determining any other sheet being used isn't theres.

I always bring my own crib and pnp sheets. I use the sheets that go on like a pillowcase and close with velcro. They are much safer than a fitted sheet which the baby could pull off and roll themselves up in it. Yes I am a crib sheet safety nut. Our last trip we stayed at a Marriott timeshare and they put a regular full sized sheet in the pack n play. I had my own luckily.

OK, no flames, but why do you bring your own?

No flames taken, I am not a germ freak by any means. But, owning DVC some members who have used the room may have not used the pack and play for some time. So I bring my own so I do not have to wash it right away. They tuck it away in the coffee table in the living area so it may stay their getting musty for a while.

I have taken my baby when he was 3 months and also when he was 9 months old. Both times there was a fitted pnp sheet, but I brought my own as well. I will be doing the same thing when he is 15 months old!!

I bring my own and put it over theirs. This way I know it is clean and my baby can have the same familiar scent as he has at home. :flower:

I am a little crazy about things like that, but I just want my baby to feel like he is at home when we are at Disney. I also bring a blanket from home for him. Also, if I can't fit MY pillow in my suitcase.............I bring a clean pillowcase from home!!! Something I have always done :confused3 That's just me!

I don't know why people feel compelled to bring their own sheets. I always used the very cute Mickey Mouse sheet. DS had his blanket and teddy... that's enough to remind him of home.

Thanks guys!
DS will be 28 months when we go, but since he still sleeps in a crib at home, that is why we requested the pack n play. I guess because he is older I am not worried about him yanking a sheet free and putting it over his head b/c we are long past that stage. And I think the Mickey sheet may be the enticement we need to get him to actually sleep in the pack n play and not in bed with us!
Thanks again for all of the input- I love these boards!
