I have just priced up my 2-Bed Room OKW rental for Easter if I was paying cash rather than using my DVC points. It would cost me £6,500!
My DVC purchase (230pts) "only" cost me £10,000 and £600 or so in fees each year. As I plan to use it every 3 years, that equates to £1,800 in fees and the difference offset against my purchase cost. So....on my first use of it, I will be "recovering" £4,700 of that original purchase cost! It ignores compounding, time value of money etc. etc. etc. but its still a great way to look at it
