I know it can change in a minute, but wondering how the weather has been? We are coming in Wednesday, and when looking at the forecast it looks like there is a 40%+ chance of rain daily. We expect daily showers, but don't want all-day rain, lol!

Interested to hear how it's been so far!

This is the only part of your post that matters. The rest is pointless, since all specific forecasts are pointless more than a day or so out.

It's raining nearly every day but it never lasts that long. And by rain, I mean huge downpours, thunder, lightning. Typical.

Here since Sunday night. Bad bad rain Mon & Tues night otherwise that has been fine. Lightening and threatening skies multiple times but nothing major where we were.

Not our first summer trip, but it is unGodly hot and humid as expected. It really wears you down. Be sure to prepare with lots of water (you can get free ice water at any counter service) and take afternoon breaks. We come in October and do 12 hour days - we are stopping this week after 3-4 for breaks.

The forecast has been the same nearly every day and it matters....none. It's a crapshoot.

would you bring a windbreaker that folds into it's own pouch that has a hood for the rain or the throwaway ponchos? I've never brought an umbrella to the parks, figuring you'd maim somebody if it's crowded, do people bring them?

You will see a few people with them in the parks, but I would guess that it would be too hard to get around with them... along with the whole poking someone's eye out ;).

I usually just go with the poncho to cover up and head into a shop/ride when it downpours. The poncho is easy enough to get off/on and can be rolled up once it stops.

We do the throw away ponchos. I also bring a small garbage bag to stuff them all into so they don't get everything wet when we take them off.
