What was the best deal you found for an on-site resort? I'm trying to gauge what the prices will be like this year for those months. If we are able to go this year it will have to be a VERY budget trip. I was thinking of staying at Pop Century. What were their prices like during those months? Would you join AAA to get a discount or pay for 1 annual pass and book a room at that rate?

I am trying to stay around the same time july 2-8 and once was a AAA member but expired but thinking about rejoining to get a discount. I did check with AAA for the wilderness lodge woods view package with dining for me33 dh33 dd10 ds6 and it was around ~3250.00 or so. Hope this helps. :wave2:

hubby and i were there at the beginning of june and our rates were 59 bucks a night..that was an ap rate at a value..

We went June 8-14 a 6nt/7day MYW package. We stayed at All Star Sports, and for 2 adults, 2 children under 10 PLUS dining package was $1978. We thought it was a good deal for a week in Disney with food & tickets paid for too!
Course we had to drive down & spend a little on extras & souvies but kept the whole trip under $2600 I think!

That is not the most budget way to go I know, but we loved all the character meals & such! :flower:

July 2005, stayed at POR AAA room only for 140.49 including tax. Without the discount the room was going for 166.13, tax included. We saved 25.64 per night w/AAA for 6 nights. For us, it was worth it to belong to AAA. :flower:

Our June /July 2005 trip was Wilderness Lodge AP rate $169.00. :cool1:

June 1st....one night at AKL was $244.00 for savannah view.

June 2nd through12th at YC we paid $260.00 per night for standard view. We were VERY lucky and were upgraded to a beautiful view of the Boardwalk and IllumiNations for the same price. I think that was a once-in-a-lifetime deal!!!!

These were AP rates. I think the AP more than paid for itself.

We were at POR June 10-16. MYW + dining (2 adults/3 kids) our total was around $2600. That was with no discounts--straight through WDW website. Now I have learned better and getting AAA card and save $$$

We went to WDW in early June 2005. We were very lucky and received a Pin Code e-mail with a rate of $79 per night at Port Orleans.

I booked our next trip for June 2006 today. I was able to get the AAA discounted rate of $84.15 per night (before taxes) at Pop Century. That's $99 rack rate minus the 15% discount. The CM did not ask for a AAA number or anything.

My suggestion would be to make a room only reservation and ask for the AAA discount now. I've heard that some people get asked for their member numbers and some people don't. I was not asked and I am not currently a member. If a better discount comes out, I will change over to that discount. If nothing better comes out, I will join AAA for $45 before going to WDW in June.

Also...a room only reservation only requires 1 night's deposit and can be cancelled up to 5 days before arrival. This gives you the flexibility to change to another discount code if any codes happen to come out in the next few months. If nothing better comes out, then at least you are locked into the best possible rate you could get.

I'm hoping for another pin code, general public code, or a Disney Visa code....but, I'm not holding my breath.

July 5-12 2005 stayed at the Swan, club floor room (could see fireworks at both MGM and EPCOT) paid $822.94. That was a special they had going in January '05...look on there website.

2 downfalls - no charging in the parks to the room key and no ME.

Otherwise, everything else was great.

Last year, we stayed at the POFQ for 129.00 a night (AAA discount without taxes. I think it was something like 148.08 a night after taxes, and we booked in December). But then, we upgraded while we were there to the Boardwalk for 249.00 a night.

We are already booked for July 3 - 14 of this year at the GF.

Hi :wave2:

We stayed at 2 resorts last summer. From June 24th to 28th inclusive (5 nights) we stayed at POFQ and it cost 115 plus tax per night.

After a night at Hard Rock Hotel we moved to Wilderness Lodge for a further 6 nights and it cost 139 plus tax per night (from June 30th to July 5th inclusive).

Both were AP rates.

I found the AP WELL WORTH the money! Also of course you'll qualify for the Disney Dining Card (costing 50 dollars) - we saved almost another 200 dollars with that throughout the course of the holiday.

Good luck with your decision. I am just bursting to go back again this year and the AP is burning a hole in my pocket. :sunny:
