prefer??? I am trying to plan my trip for next summer. We went last year in mid Aug. and loved it. Can't do that anymore because of son's high school soccer tryouts. So...this year we went middish July...arrived July 19th for 14 nights.....stayed at OKW for 8 and then switched to BCV for 6. We never thought the pool was too crowded at SAB either. I enjoyed the July trip too. So now we are kinda thinking of going in mid June....like June 15th or 16th......

We would like to do 3 nights at AKV Kidani and then switch to BCV for a week. So now I need some expert advice on going in mid June as opposed to mid July????? Does it rain more/less/temps/crowds/ anything there that you want to share......please do. Thanks

I've been in to WDW in both June and July and honestly I feel like think both times are busy. the only time I would suggest in June would be in early June because not all schools are out yet. Once June 15th hits, most (if not all) schools are out and places are packed and the heat is turned up.

Oh well I didn't think the crowd were bad at all in July. We were surprised really. We expected it to be much more crowded than mid Aug. from the year before. We use TGM and leave the parks around 1:00 or earlier. See that is what scares me about June....lots of people take a vacation as soon as school gets out.

We usually go the first week of June and it does not seem nearly as crowded as it was this past July. The parks seemed to be overrun with tour groups in matching shirts. We vowed to stear clear of Disney in July! With that said IMO the earlier in June you can go the better. We also had much more rain in July.
We went both June and July this year so it was easy to compare!:thumbsup2

This year we went mid-July. Our last two trips before that were in June.

I would pick June hands down. (We already have our trip booked for next June, ourselves! :yay: )

We found July to be hotter, more crowded (tour groups:scared1: ), and had TONS more rain.

We are very much looking forward to our June trip next year!

I don't know if it rains more or less in June than July, but I think it is just a little less hot and humid in June than it is in July. But I think you should just go when is best for your family's plans and schedules.

Well that is just it...we can go in mid/late June or mid/late July. I just wanted some feedback. Thanks

You can never tell about the weather. We were at OKW the last week of July and only had 1 afternoon that it rained on us - and we were at Epcot so it didn't really matter. The skies would get dark, but it just seemed to bypass us. It was a very unusual summer trip for us. I didn't find it that humid, or hot. The test being if my glasses fog up when I leave AC. LOL

Meanwhile back in MA - it rained every day we were gone. We were hoping the grass would go dormant in our absence. No such luck.

The historic weather charts I looked at shows more rainfall on average in June than July. We have been mid July before and it rained every day the first week and the second week was lovely and sunny. The parks start to get busier from mid June onwards so it really is a gamble choosing between these 2 months I feel. Always best to avoid 4th July though.

We had some rain in July but nothing that ruined anything for us. Matter of fact one afternoon into the early evening it rained for a good 3 hours so by the time we got to MK the crowds were very LOW. We actually loved that rainy afternoon. We had a few days that it thunderstormed in the late afternoons/

I wish! Here in the Northeast schools seldom let out before the 3rd week of June.

We were in WDW in June '06, around the 13th, and tropical storm Alberto came through with lots and lots of rain. Also, we had been in WDW in August '05, thought it was too hot, and we found that in '06 when it wasn't raining, it was just as hot as the previous August.

I think you have to decide on your time preference and not on what sort of weather people have found in the past. We have also had wonderful weather in mid-June, this year we found late June to be great!

My thinking is that (I'm guessing at these numbers) 80% of the school systems in the country let out in the first two weeks of June and late June early July is going to be crazy. Now this doesn't impact DVC so much, but if you're planning to go to the parks... I think mid July might be statistacally (probably not noticeably) better than mid June. The weather for June, July, & August look pretty much identical on average.

From Intercot.com:

MONTH JUNE
TEMPERATURE (AVERAGE) - HIGH: 91ºf / 33ºc
TEMPERATURE (AVERAGE) - LOW: 72ºf / 22.5ºc
RAINFALL (AVERAGE) - IN INCHES: 7.3
COMMENT ABOUT THE MONTH: Starts to get very busy as schools break up for the summer.

MONTH JULY
TEMPERATURE (AVERAGE) - HIGH: 92ºf / 33.5ºc
TEMPERATURE (AVERAGE) - LOW: 73ºf / 23ºc
RAINFALL (AVERAGE) - IN INCHES: 7.2
COMMENT ABOUT THE MONTH: One of the busiest times of year. July 4th is traditionally one of the busiest days at Walt Disney World.

MONTH AUGUST
TEMPERATURE (AVERAGE) - HIGH: 92ºf / 33.5ºc
TEMPERATURE (AVERAGE) - LOW: 72ºf / 22.5ºc
RAINFALL (AVERAGE) - IN INCHES: 6.8
COMMENT ABOUT THE MONTH: The early part of the month is still very busy, but starts to quiet down towards the end of the month.

I am pretty sure NOW we are going with 3rd week of July again. The more I think about it....not trips are ever the same really even if you go the same week the following year. We have gone in Jan. 3 times same week and also in Nov. 3 times same week and you get different crowds and different weather patterns. Thanks everyone. It looks like another July trip for us.....works out better for our kids schedules too. :goodvibes

Been in June and July and August. Mid June crowd is a little (and I emphasize only a little) lighter than mid-July. Weather-wise about the same -- as some Floridians like to say it is "cooler" in June than July because in June it only averages 93 and in July it averages 94. Thunderstorm pattern is usually about the same, although in June you might get some skewing -- you can be on the tail end of a drought and get little rain, or, as happened to us several years ago, you can get some storm system that just decides to sit over Florida for a week and have rain 14 to 16 hours a day for a week. Only real notable difference, the South American vacation crowd (it is winter down there) is mostly there in July not June.

Why?
Crowds are less (slightly)
Heat is less (slightly)
Humidity seems less (slightly)
BTGs are less (a lot)

This would be the deciding factor for me. We had to do July this year but usually go in June and we did not have the tour groups in June as we did in July. This might be the reason that the crowds in June feel slightly less than those in July. They can be very frustrating and at one point, one group took over some busses from MK to SSR so that they could take the SSR bus to DTD. Unfortunately it looks like my two boys will be playing high school baseball this year so that means another July trip next year.
