For those that have driven straight through...

We live just south of Richmond VA we will leave around 6 pm drive thru
North Carolina spend the nite. Next day drive to Charleston for the day and
spend the night and then drive to WDW. My DH wants to take our time
and do a little sight seeing on the way. So we'll leave on 6/15 and arrive
at WDW on 6/18.

However I did mapquest and it is only 11 hrs and 56 minutes from my house to POP...............

We live in Northeastern PA and it took us about 17 hours (with stops). On the way down we stopped in Florence, South Carolina. On the way back up we stopped in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

We stop in Florence and Rocky Mount too when we drive from Northern NJ. We tried a few different ways, but decided we like that itinerary better then leaving later in the day, or driving overnight.

We always drive straight thru but we are from Ontario and it is a 22-24 hour drive. We have always left at 4-5pm and have avoided major traffic in the big cities that way. However this time we have two kids DD8&DS2 and we are still driving straight thru and are planning on leaving at the same time so that they will hopefully sleep most of the night. I don't like the rest stops at night either so my DH usually stops at gas stations and uses there restrooms. Our son will still be in diapers so I won't need to take him out of the car but my daughter should last the night without needing a stop. I don't even allow my husband to eat IN a restaurant...if he can't eat it on the road, he can't eat!! Wastes too much valuable vacation time!!!!
